Freakinoldguy Freakinoldguy: llama66 llama66: Well for what it's worth, I highly doubt Kaepernick will be on '9ers come the end of the season, and it's not going to be from this bit of stupidity, but because he's not a QB that fits the niners system. The best part is that he likely won't be on any team by the end of the season. He's pretty much made himself player non gratis with his antics and not alot of other teams are going to want to pick up a potential lightning rod for racial disharmony with no ascertainable skill upside. Although given his antics I wonder just how much of this stunt was from his convictions and how much was him just making sure he's got a viable excuse for being cut and not picked up? The NFL was wife-beaters, drug users, drunk drivers and a bunch that own guns but don't seen to know how to use them... if nobody wants this one as a player, it's because they don't believe in his playing skills anymore, not because of this.

Freakinoldguy Freakinoldguy: raydan raydan: To be fair though, he (and everybody else) should "champion" on his own time, not on his employee's. Wouldn't that be his employers? But anyway, you're right. Gee, a bunch of grammar Nazis here today.

Theres merit to your theory, Kaepernick has been teetering on the edge since last season and according to reports from training camp (take with grain of salt) he's lost the starting role to Blaine Gabbert. No way Trent Baalke is going to have a 14 million dollar backup. So enter Kaepernick's childish 'I'm not standing for the National Anthem' bullshit. They need to dump him, the Niners has always been a classy organisation, they don't need a yahoo like this sullying the brand. Kaepernick is a Cancer.

Pocket passers like Manziel don't survive in the CFL especially given the speed the games played at. How would he ever get his drug and alcohol addled brain around the fact that the entire backfield plus every receiver was in motion before the snap. I can honestly see his head exploding. TBH he'd likely last about as long as Ricky Williams.

The CFL might be good for Manziel, he has the talent just needs to get his shit together and he's a bigger ass than Kaepernick.

Given it take a CFL QB a couple of years to develop I can't see someone with Manziel's ego comming up here and sitting on the bench for that period of time. Besides there's likely only one team that'd take a chance on him and that's Montreal who'd do it for publicity alone like they did with Michael Sam. Although Nelson Skalbania did bring up such notables as Vince Ferragamo, James Scott, David Overstreet, Keith Gary, Fred Belitnikoff and Billy "White Shoes" Johnson all who instrumental in provining that the CFL isn't always compatible with NFL players.

BeaverFever BeaverFever: Today in right wing political correctness..... Oh fer sure dude. Man, I sure wish someone would oppress me with a $19 million paycheque to work 5-6 months. Hell, I'll even cut them a deal. I'll only take $9.5 million and work 10-11 months for it.

Michael Sam was drafted because he was openly gay which put pressure on him to live up to the hype and he didn't. The CFL produced greats like Doug Flutie and Warren Moon maybe Manziel should have gone there first instead of the NFL. Kaepernick Reportedly Fighting an 'Uphill Battle' to Stay on 49ers Roster
$1: According to Fox Sports' Jay Glazer, via Rotoworld, San Francisco may be looking to cut Kaepernick either before it finalizes its 53-man roster or in the middle of the season. Releasing the 28-year-old would be a costly move for the 49ers.
