Can I just state the obvious, 99.99% of the time if you don't hit someone, no one will hit you.

Or shoot you.

You kind of have a thing for this shooting stuff. *note to self, don't piss off MeganC*

Usually when they ask what I have on under my kilt and I answer lipstick they shut up . But yep, it's cute when they lift my kilt or grab my ass.

I suppose that depends on what your ass looks like.

LOL

I am just real about things. Some big guy comes after me and it is not a fair fight so I hope I am at home if that ever happens.

Gunnair Gunnair:

As well, how accurate do think your supposition is given that your initial reaction to the very question was a negative that it was even raised. That hardly suggests an honest and unbiased look now does it?J
I think the fall back to danger or injury ignores the reality that abuse exists. If your position is such, could I assume emotional abuse is somewhat of a non issue for you? Minimal danger and injury.

Edit : damned editing on an iPhone
Usually when you post I have no trouble understanding what you mean. Not this time.

Thanos Thanos:

BTW, I never said that women assaulting men was OK. I merely pointed out that the damage done by men attacking women is far worse and deserves to be treated far more seriously by the law. Assault is assault and should be a chargable offense regardless of who does it and why, which is where the far more serious charge of battery is supposed to be applied if necessary, but let's be realistic. A series of slaps or a scratch to the face or a hair pull by a woman against a man is pretty damn small potatoes compared to a raging male beating a woman in the face until she's unrecognizable. So fuck them. I'm not going to waste any of my time engaged in some sort of game of false equivalencies here. You guys can pull out all the "she did it too" anectodes all you want and it still won't even come close to the intensity, devastation, number of instances, and pure lethality of what happen when men beat up on women. It's the same difference as being hit by a pebble vs being smashed over the head with a brick.

Not all women at 5'1" and 100lbs. I have a few women friends 5'10+ and 150lbs+. On the flip side, not all men are big, burly guys with ham-fists.

You're generalizing that all women are small, weak and don't pack a punch.

That's bullshit.

My 7 year old packs a punch and can give you a good charlie-horse that aches for hours afterwards. Add another 3' in height and 100+ lbs and you have the average woman.

Speaking of number of instances....women hit men more often. Then also stab men more often....so your number of "instances" is just a myth carried forth by this double standard.

Not at all.

I had a dealing with a bad person and have learned much from her and will pass on what I've learned to my daughters on how not to treat people.

Some, yes. Certainly not all.

It appears the reporter opted to take the low numbers to arrive at the "nearly one in ten" when it could (using the same margin of error) be read as "nearly 95% of Alberta men feel physically assaulting a woman is unacceptable".

Funny things them stats...

+5 R=UP

Headlines like that wouldn't make the front page though...

Of course he did. I take it that more than 9 out of 10 are not rednecks.
Which proves my point: Rednecks find it ok to hit women

If you think that only 1 Albertan in 10 is a redneck, then you've never been here!

Drive though Edmonton or rural Alberta sometime - hell even Calgary is full of rednecks, they just drive more expensive pick-ups than the rest of us! I'd argue redneck's represent between a third to one half of the male population here...

I'm glad to hear that, perhaps if more women felt the same, we could rid society of this double-standard.

Yep. As I was not very coherently trying to write on my iphone, the fact that when abuse by women on men is brought up brings out a kneejerk reaction that's it's not really important because a woman can't really hurt a guy like a guy can hurt a girl reveals the depths of the double standard we have here.

I've seen some two ton Tillies lay a beat down on their scrawny spouses, while up north.
