I love how you reference part of stories to make your point, but leave out the other part.
You cut down the profit made by pot, they'll start pushing other drugs to make up for the lost revenue.
Why aren't they pushing those drugs now? What market is there for those other drugs just waiting to be exploited, that they're not exploiting now? They already push other drugs - you think they're just not applying themselves diligently enough? What is this big demand for other drugs that's going unfulfilled now? Are there voices in the wilderness crying "please, Mr Gangster, quit selling pot and sell me **&%^ instead"?

Then you'll be back here in a decade trying to get Ecstasy legalized.
I already think X should be legalized and regulated. Reduce harm doing that over kids dying from dirty X.
$1:
Health risks: There has been much hysterical speculation about the dangers of taking Ecstasy, and although the vast majority of these articles seem more interested in pursuing a moral agenda than dealing with the health issues, it's important to recognise that there are some risks involved.
Although it's true to say that E is a comparably safe drug, in 1999, Ecstasy was mentioned on 26 UK death certificates in 1999 (although on most of these other drugs were listed too).
http://www.urban75.com/Drugs/drugxtc.htmlThe problem with X is that you'd have to make the legal version available to young people, or they'll just keep on using the street version with who knows what shit is in it. I don't think anybody is ready for that. But what's happening now isn't good either, and it sure seems easy to get the street stuff. Maybe we could try getting tougher on the precursers of the stuff, but then of course it just gets smuggled in. I know if I had a teenager at home I would much rather they use clean X of known dosage than street crap. Better of course they don't use anything, and that's where good parenting would come in - and setting an example.

You know nothing about gangs, other than the fact that you support them by buying your drugs.
I love how you make up bullshit try to make your point. What drugs am I buying? And, what do you know about gangs? You know, but the cops and attorneys general that say it would reduce gang activity don't?
