Sure they are all "(Islamist) nutbars". I guess we can link all terrorist attacks to each other, regardless of religion or radical beliefs. So, with that logic, this WAS Al Qaeda. As was the Oklahoma bombing.

[/sarcasm] No. People are calling this Norway's Oklahoma. But Islamist groups do have a link in my mind - hence they are called Islamist groups. Some co-operated with each other. I don't think it's unreasonable to assume that if a type of terror attack worked well for one Islamist group another might not try it too. I don't think Al Qaeda has trademarked certain styles of terror attacks and won't use others. The first WTC bombing attempt was made by Al-Gama'a al-Islamiyya (also known as "The Islamic Group"), a militant Islamist movement in Egypt. Would you have said when Al Qaeda flew into the WTC that it couldn't be them because only only Al-Gama goes after the WTC.

On top of the horrendous massacre, this little tidbit left me a little uncomfortable as well. $1: Stoltenberg also tried to comfort the families, whose children were at the annual retreat for political training I went to camp to learn about canoeing, archery, swimming, horseback riding and firearm safety, or when I did Air Cadet camp, about the principles of flight, meteorology and other things related to aircraft.

I see the media are already blaming the Noggy cops for their slow response. Yea, you always practice for the scenario of a crazy fuck going onto an island and killing 87 kids.
I suppose we all will now.

I suppose we all will now. Pathetic isn't it? The sad thing too is that camps such as this may be reconsidered now.

Just wait till someone pulls an effective attack on a school bus killing 50, or a school killing 500. Will we re-consider educating our kids after that? The goal of a terrorist attack is to make us fear the consequences and repercussions of not living to someone else's demands or ideals. The only way to truly win is to suck it up, make the perps suffer (skin this fucker alive and drown him in the arctic), and continue to live as we previously lived our lives.

EyeBrock EyeBrock: You may be right CM. I suppose the fact that for the past 15 years any such event has always been linked to Islamic terror groups has made us jump to conclusions. Who's forcing you to jump to conclusions? The same intolerance that motivated this idiot is why you guys do it I think.

I certainly don't apologize for doing so. Who's been doing this sort of shit worldwide, including shootings, as I tried to point out to Brenda? There had been a foiled Al Qaeda plot and a Kurdish Imam making threats in Norway, but no action heretofore of right wing groups. And so far it seems this guy acted alone, no some great whitey conspiracy. The reason he was so deadly is because he went to a remote Island where people could not escape and there was no ready help available. His bomb certainly wasn't well timed for maximum effect. Let's just hope others don't want to imitate this. But again, I think assuming this was Muslims was entirely reasonable.

I would never ask you or any of the others to apologize. You assume the worst of them, they assume the worst of you, innocents get killed. Same story. Over and over.

$1: The reason he was so deadly is because he went to a remote Island where people could not escape and there was no ready help available. I've read some stories of people living on the shore next the island who took their boat and circled the island to rescue people while the police was hesitant to strike. According to one story, a citizen rescued over 40 people from the water with her boat. That's what I call heroes.

Since the fall of the wall the new bogeyman is Islam and communism is passe. Media hypes that and if it isn't a Imam behind an attack then the media just ignores it.
