Mustang1 Mustang1:
Immediate British "War" objectives were indeed accomplished.

In some senses, they were. Lord Liverpool wanted good relations with the United States and he initiated what's been near two centuries of peace between the two powers (albeit with some bumpy times in the latter half of the 19th century).

The only beer I drink is Québec micro-brews. [B-o]

I know, there are a lot of good American micro-brews out there now. Every time I go down, I try to find stuff that I've never tried before.

Thank god -- for some reason when I read "Canadian" I substituted "Molson Canadian" which I think we can both agree is a very crude approximation of beer.

Yes, there's some *very* nice Quebec micros out there. I love the stuff from Unibroue -- I think they're probably Canada's best brewery in terms of uniqueness and overall quality. It's sad though that it's actually easier for me in NYS to get Unibroue products than it was in Ontario. 8O

Molson is to beer what Etch-a-Sketch is to art.

BartSimpson BartSimpson:
Molson mass produced is to beer what Etch-a-Sketch is to art.

FTFY. Well beer aficionados claim that about mass produced products but I've seen tasting test competitions that saw beer "experts" getting 50% accuracy on beers they supposedly drank.

Taste any one of these... if you find anything that tastes mildly similar to Molson, get back to me. [B-o]

Nah, beer and wine but I'm always amazed at the snobbery on both. You either like the taste or you don't.

On whiskey et al, I can see the draw for good malts/brandy etc, it's just not for me.

Oh I appreciate a good micro-brewery. We had the Brick brewery where i went to University. They gave "tours" which were excuses to drink lots of their beer.

I know when I was young and going to my uncles cottage north of Montreal I drank Laurentide because that was what he drank and I had to steal it from him.

Really? Never thought of you as a vinophile. Learn something new everyday.

Me, I prefer Gin & Vodka in hard stuff.
