ShepherdsDog ShepherdsDog:
We eat ham to remember the last supper, which was a kosher meal. Eggs were just co opted from the pagan slavs...like so many other traditions in Christianity ....keeping old traditions made the transition from old religion to new easier. New names and explanations were given to old practices. I don't know where the rabbit fits in though. [huh]

I guess that is where I am confused the most....I knew the rest, but the rabbit thing laying eggs always fucked me up as a kid and I never got easter eggs....well cuz I would freak out about eggs squished out by rabbits and I wasnt allowed sugar or regular eggs

But I am so confused by eggs...fucking eggs!!! And confused by the mentality of others to change the name of eggs....fucked up man just as fucked up as rabbits laying eggs

It comes from the very little known 13th apostle. His name was Harvey.

He was in Harvey, a movie where he kept seeing a giant rabbit named Harvey

He was also in Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, It's A Wonderful Life, Philadelpia Story, Rear Window, and Vertigo to name some of his better known movies.

Harvey.....1950.....Elwood P. Dowd is a mild-mannered, pleasant man, who just happens (he says) to have an invisible friend resembling a 6-foot rabbit that only he can see. When his sister Veta (Josephine Hull) tries to have him committed, she's taken in instead. It's up to Elwood and Harvey to straighten out the mess. James Stewart stars in his most amiable, bumbling mode. The film is based on Mary Chase's Pulitzer Prize-winning play. Academy Award Nominations: 1, including Best Actor: James Stewart. Academy Awards: 1, Best Supporting Actress: Josephine Hull.

Old pagan symbol for the rebirth of spring, all animals starting a new season
of reproducing, guess the bunny got picked because of so many, so fast. :)
