The problem is that Extreamist Islam feels it must be supreme. Free speech is okay except when it comes draw pictures of Mohammed (Piss be upon him). Violence again infidels is okay. This is the kind of stuff that makes Islam a pain to deal with.

Most of the Muslims that live in the States understand that
we are a secular country where nobody's God has the right to violate another persons rights. We get along fine. It's the one's that don't that are the problems.

If you really want to be offended, you should read Tom Kratman's novel Caliphate. It's supposed to be SF but really turns out to be nothing more than far right wing political ideology masquerading as SF, in which American muslims and Hispanics are put on boats and shipped back home (one of many horrible things the author seems to revel in).

Is it at least well written? As a writer (like you!), believe me I'm more offended by bad writing than political screed. Though the two do often go hand in hand.
