Well, I know nothing about any of that and the fact that we had Castle and Lion beer either.
I'm reminded of the Apocalypse Now line.

"Sir, I am unaware of any such activity or operation - nor would
I be disposed to discuss such an operation if it did in
fact exist, sir."

Without help from certain people, Op Corporate would not have been a go. Some jingoistic Brits forget that.

The guys who took part knew what happened.

I actually took a ride in a Victor tanker refuelling a C130 doing an air-drop in some godforsaken part of the South Atlantic. 14 hours of severe discomfort. Never volunteer for anything they say eh?

EyeBrock EyeBrock:
Nope. I told you. I was there when the dead and burnt came off this ship. Not being weepy. I'm touchy like anybody who's seen dead and burnt boys.

I've got no axe to grind on this but would you say this about a picture from Afghanistan where Canadians were killed in an IED explosion?

You still have a piss-poor attitude on this. An apology for an insensitive remark would be more appropriate and have some respect for our dead.

Had you bothered to read my entire post instead of getting upset over my comment you might have realized that that my point was that the incident Winnipegger was commenting on was out of date and irrelevant to the discussion at hand (just like a photo of the Arizona sinking at Pearl Harbor would have been).

If this thread been about insurgency and counter-insurgency efforts, no I wouldn’t have said that about Canadians killed by an IED, as it is still relevant. However, a picture of Canadians going over the top in WW1 probably would have gotten a similar response.

You were the one who ASSUMED I was laughing at the death of British sailors, but I have never said any such thing. How about I make a similar dumbass assumption and expect an apology for your glib dismissal of all the Argentines who died on the Belgrano TWO days before the 20 who died on the HMS Sheffield?

You want an apology for a comment YOU took out of context? Don't hold your breath.

This is totally the wrong way to do it TAX the fuckers going in and out that will discourage them . 8O

A tollbooth? Are you trying to imply that some guy with a uniform and a coin-changer is as effective as one with a uniform and a big fucking gun?
You're talking to guys who think the US Armed Forces are the only thing stopping Canadians from roasting weenies on the embers of the White House.
How would a toll collector stop those North Korean and Iranian nuclear subs sneaking around up there every day?
