I'll take the statscan source backed up with a source that clearly is discussing the issue at hand over your telemundo source.

Both sides are arguing over things that have nothing to do with the cause of increasing unemployment. The government, Martin or Harper or Layton or Dion or whomever the Liberals are setting up for the next great failure, have anything to do with it. This is a GLOBAL response to overproduction and failing credit and there isn't anything anyone in government could have done to prevent or can do to fix it. It was caused by shortsighted corporations and they're the ones that are going to have to change their ways to fix it. So settle in, folks, she's gonna be a stormy couple of years.

Yet you don't post the numbers from 93 on do you? 8)

Thats because they show a steep decline in unemployment, a decline of some 5%.

You post the same small increase post 2001, increases you blame on the Liberals yet you will not hold Harper accountable for the steep increase in unemployment now.

In other words, you claim Harper is not responsible for the skyrocketing unemployment and economic crisis yet the Liberals were.

On yer bike sunshine.

well we are in a Global Recession .
I asked you before and you still haven't answered - why did the Liberals have such dismal unemployment rates?

In the late 90's the US had half of Canada's unemployment rate.

you tried to deny my stats were correct and now you try to if and but your way out of your mistake. :P

Even a turkey can fly in a strong enough wind. The federal governments claim and receieve WAY too much credit for anything that happens in the world of economics.

They also take too much blame for things over which they have minimal control/impact.

Ohhhh, we are in "global recession" when its Harpers stats but the Liberals fault when they are in charge eh?

(see RUEZ)

Nice try hack. The Liberals stats were far below your hero and quientisential conservative, Mulroney. In fact that stats show them steadily defeating the conservative unemployment rates of some 10-11%.

It only took Harper 2 years to eliminate that as well as eliminate the debt and deficit efforts of the Libs.

34 billion this year in conservative and mtbr approved deficit spending.

You should be proud. :P

Absolutely. When I said "credit", I meant for both good and bad things. Sorry, if that was unclear.

Noooo, you are throwing out a red herring by trying to blame the Liberals for what you say is high unemployment, unemployment that went down almost every year under them.

You want to blame the Liberals for what you claim everybody is blaming Harper for.

The truth is that PMs have less impact on unemployment then you think but they do have an impact on deficits due to their tax policies.

You cannot blame the Liberals for unemployment without blaming harper for the skyrocketing unemployment.

What you can blame him for is his deficits because he decided to cut taxes at the same time as increasing spending. You cannot expect to refund the military and cut taxes without running a deficit. Thats why this deficit is his to hold.

It was near 11% when they took over. It went down steadily.

Explain Harpers massive unemployment increase in the same context as blaming the Liberals then.
