liberal = ndp = bloc nice choices. Canadian's won't forget that even to threaten the government they needed to get into bed with the separatists.

How does that make you feel? just because the socialists and the commies 'think' they should be in power, despite losing an election. And losing big!

none of those three goofs can win an election..Dion? haha, taliban jack! yeah, and douce

hahhaha THEY CAN'T WIN WITH THE PUBLIC, lets try a coup!

We had an election and Dion lost.
The people of Canada don't like him.

We had an election, and Harper didn't win a majority.

But he won the election. Like it or not, the Liberals and NDP just said "Fuck you" To everybody who voted. Instead of having a true vote of no confidence, they just take control, using the Bloc as their major ticket. Anybody who thinks this will last longer than a few months is a total fool, unless the Liberals are going to allow Quebec to split.

I had hoped to forget about that option, but now I am worried. Quebec separation WILL be the price of this coalition. Can anyone now dare to challenge my statement that the coalition members are traitors to our beloved Canada? It is time for a revolution to ensure bullshit like this never happens again, AND to end the separatist threat once and for all. Time to dissolve Quebec, by splitting it between Ontario and Labrador. Fuck Quebec.

yes we know it has nothing to do with Canada or the economy it's just a power grab...admitted over and over and over.
Just for clarification, are you reffering to the coallition or Harpers' fiscal update??

Everyone who voted? Please. More people voted Liberal and NDP than voted Conservative, and who knows how they would have voted if the prospect of a coalition had been on the table. It's about time our leaders grew up, and learned to cooperate and compromise. It's a lesson Harper would have done well to have learned a week ago. He didn't have the control of the house necessary to carry forward his rash opportunism.

The population voted for a Conservative minority government. Playing what if games on "If a coalition government..." was discussed during the election is all opinion since it wasn't brought up. For all you know the Conservatives could have got an majority as well.

Harper and the Conservative government received 143 seats, and with that, the population's belief and support of a larger Conservative minority. The people voted in what they desired, and any argument to the contrary is just a wetdream. You cannot just say that just because more people voted for the Liberals and NDP that they have some sort of justification when polling is saying that this is highly unpopular. They're digging their own grave with this move, but if you cannot see this, then let the coalition occur, only to enjoy the NDP and Liberal parties be destroyed.

This is a simple fact of the matter. A Liberal-NDP-Bloc government will collapse within a few months, and there will be many angry voters believing that they literally stated that the vote did not matter.

If you want a new government, vote this one down. Oh...but they won't, because in the end, the NDP and the Liberals are cowards, knowing they are too broke to accomplish anything. Let's have another election. You want a new government so badly, let's have one.

Quite right. It could have gone either way. But the fact remains that our parliamentary system allows for this to happen. But what the the electorate voted for was 143 Conservatives, 77 Liberals, 37 NDP, 49 Bloc and 2 independents. Nothing more, nothing less. Recent convention has been that the Conservatives form government, and if they fall there's an election. But precendent since confederation has been many things, including alternative governments from non-confidence and coalitions direct from elections. This is our democracy. It is constantly changing nd evolving. Just because the Conservatives are on the outs as a result doesn't make it undemocratic.

First let's let someone else do with what they were given what the Conservatives foolishly decided not to - govern.

I love how a couple of weeks ago all the Liberals and NDPers were yeling like banshees about the government and how they might may be running a deficit. They called it fiscal irresponsibility and pissing away our surplus. Yet somehow spending $30 billion is logical and responsible. What a bunch of morons! Bring on an election and let the people decide.

You're dead on there. This ship of fools will be shoveling money back east like it's on fire and then they'll blame the CPC when it runs out.

Running the country in a coalition is a team sport. You take to much - the team falls apart. You don't play hard enough, the team falls apart.

It is not in the Bloc's best interest to topple the coalition, it makes no sense. They can have their say and push for some things that their constituants might ask for...but your wrong if you think the first thing they will do is jump ship.

And lets not forget that the liberals left a huge deficit and Herr Harper blew it in 2.5yrs giving gifts to his buds. Its easy spending someone elses money. He has left the country in a severe financial crises. And you want us to let him continue. He has no plans for anything. Just cut gouge and screw the average joe.
