It would not surprise me if it were the Saudis doing this. Their current ruler is an aggressive nut and they stand to benefit from it.

Why not? They were cunning enough to have their filthy hands all over Sept 11, 2001, and got away with it.

I don’t think the Saudi King and his inner circle wanted 9/11 to happen. Like most rulers of religiously fanatical states their priorities are focused on keeping the good times rolling.
