Another would be; not all horse racing is bad. Some is riskier than others, but then again the daily commute is also riskier than an auto race.

I choose to commute or race autos. A horse doesn't choose to race chuck wagons.

Horses running free on the range at will is not the same as humans racing horses around a track.

A human decided to place the horse into a riskier situation, not the horse.
