He should find a good lawyer and sue City News & Hunt for a few million bucks for character assassination
How did they assassinate his character? By asking him very reasonable questions and filming the result? IF any one assassinated his character, it was him. Except he doesn't have one to assassinate.
She didn't once ask if she could record it or tell him the camera was still on. For someone like me who deals with media quite often, I know never to take anything for granted, but he is/was a network engineer - how many times do you think he has talked to a reporter before? Every time I've been interviewed, they always asked if it was okay to record - ALWAYS.
They have to get your consent to legally film you - otherwise they are the ones breaking the law. Ever wonder why B-roll never shows people faces? It's because the camera person would have to chase them down and get them to sign consent forms. I didn't see him give his consent to be recorded (although she does ask the first guy).
She also didn't bother to note anywhere in that report that he didn't actually say FHRITP and the way her 'interview' is set-up, it makes it appear that he did say it. Sure he says some other objectionable stuff and admitted he thought FHRITP is funny, but none of that is a crime.
I agree the guy is a schmuck, but nothing he did was illegal and coupled with her lack of professionalism, he probably has a case to sue CityTV.
