As I`ve said before, this is actually quite common, especially in Asia...even the developed areas. The sewage treatment plants have trouble with the processing the paper, and the pipes clog

Mexico is also like that, their pipes can't handle TP so you throw it in a trash can.

I've lived in Asia and let me tell you, having diarhhea and using a squat toilet (AKA hole in the ground) is NOT a pleasant experience!

It's common in Eastern Europe to throw your toilet paper in a bin. Greece does it, Czech Republic (if I recall correctly), and everything in between. If I recall correctly, it is the same in Spain as well.

The fact that there is no garbage bag in that bin is kind of disturbing to me, but that's it.

Different culture. Adapt.
