How long is a complete cycle ... around 30,000 years?

True, The ice ages last longer than the warm periods so we should be thankful for the fact that we are blessed to live in a warm period.

As a matter of fact, Canadians should be MOST grateful given that Toronto isn't covered with 3km of ice like it was just about 15,000 years ago.

I'm sort of grateful ....

... would liven the place up, tho.

Anyway, we will have thousands of years of navigable Arctic before it all freezes over again. Wait until the frozen Mastodon shit forty feet deep that we call our Arctic Tundra thaws out for the duration.

The ice ages apparently can come on quite quickly and become irreversible as is noted by the fact of flash-frozen mammoths and mastadons who died with fresh flowers in their mouths and who were preserved for millenia before being discovered as the permafrost thawed.

It's the one aspect of the movie 'Day After Tomorrow' that rings somewhat accurate is that flash freezing is entirely possible given that it has happened in the past.

That's why need to keep the globe warm(ing).

An ice age would end this country.

Unsound Unsound:
BartSimpson BartSimpson:

Why have a military at all? Just surrender to the USA and we'll protect you...since we're going to be responsible for your protection anyway you may as well give up any lingering notions of actual sovereignty and just acknowledge your self-imposed status as a vassal of the USA.

Would we get to vote? And would this eliminate any controversy for Ted Cruz running?

Funny thing is the answer would be 'yes' on both counts.

So would each province become a state, or would they be divided up a bit to keep texas and Alaska from getting geography envy?

How would the GOP deal with the fact that they just lost the house for the next 15-20 years?

Do you, as a republican, consider Cruz "natural born"?

All fairly unrelated questions, but interesting to me. :)

This suggests reasons for dramatic change...
