All I have seen you say is "I am sure" (which is an assumption) and "your question is dumb" (which insults my intelligence). You dove in his mind and know with 100% certainty his psychotic and delusional mind (his mind when off meds) did not plan it.
You DO NOT KNOW. Nobody does. He didn't think he was doing anything wrong at the time. NOW he understands he did. While he is on his meds, he does.

What'll push him to go off the meds again if he's on his own is the intense nausea and mind-numbing effect that anti-psychotic medication causes in the patients that take them. If he's exhausted by the puking and tired of feeling that his brain is stuck in a neverending fogbank there's every chance that he will take the risk of going off the medicine again. This is nothing new. In the US they've known it for decades. They closed down most of the asylums when mental illnesses became treatable with medications. They didn't account though for the physical torment the medications themselves can cause and that's how they ended up with a vicious circle of often dangerous mental patients living on city streets alternating between almost-normal periods while in treatment and becoming a menace when the agony of the treatment becomes intolerable and they go off it. On-med, off-meds, lather, rinse, repeat. It's almost kinder to Li in a physical sense to keep him locked up where he can't harm anyone else and off the medication altogther.

There's also the problem with those that are on meds who start to feel better, getting off their meds because they think theyn are OK now. Li was supposed to be on meds to treat his schizophrenia, when he murdered McLean. What guarantees are there that he wouldn't go off them again if not under constant care and supervision. Don't torture the guy or put him in a deep dark pit(allow him to wander around on enclosed grounds while being monitored), but don't ever ever release him from supervised care.

Generally, with a formal request, the justice system will even purchase it for him. As well, if he qualifies, they'll line up a couple of prostitutes for him or with another special request, beuracrates could hand pick another carny for him.

Just to be clear here, are you theorizing that he knew that not taking hIs meds would result in a psychotic episode where he'd end up eating a fellow Bus passenger?

I asked you how YOU knew he did not know. Which is different from what you are claiming I am saying.
The doctors don't even have tests to diagnose schizophrenia. But apparently, you know exactly what and how he knows and does not know, or what his mind knows, which is not necessarily the same as his realization.

Was there ever any doubt?

He doesn't pose a threat under those conditions but with that being said it's another step towards full release where he will once again be undersupervised and given past history likely to go off he's meds leading to another pshychotic episode resulting in god knows what horrific crimes.

Glad to see they're thinking about the safety of the public in all this.
