Thanos Thanos: Zipperfish Zipperfish: Wonder what side teh Republicans are on? Not so patriotic now. They like Putin. Came in first for the preferred GOP leader at the CPAC2014 straw poll. Perennial favourite Bull Connor was a distant second. Thanosworld must be a smiley-face place to lose one's mind. For those of us stuck out here in reality however Rand Paul won the CPAC 2014 straw poll, and Bull Connor was a Democrat.

Democratic conservatives in the Civil War supported the Confederacy and Democratic conservatives in the 1960's era supported Jim Crow. They became Republican conservatives after Nixon and Atwater unleashed the Southern Strategy and for the most part have remained so since. And the Southern conservative infection in terms of a totalitarian atavistic and retrograde attitude has long since spread across the entire United States. Most American conservatives, except for a few isolated and diminishing enclaves in the Northeast and on the West Coast, now behave like Southerners and nothing like what "conservative" and "Republican" meant for over a century after a Southern conservative murdered Abraham Lincoln. The keywords being "Southern" and "conservative". The party labels mean essentially nothing, although you're more than welcome to keep fucking that chicken all you want and pretending that your fixation on party labels above everything else actually means something. But it doesn't and on this, like on so many other things that you keep promoting here, you're 100% dead wrong.

The world according to Thanos. Facts will be altered or made up. Any one disagreeing will be tared and feathered. Truth is only what Lord Thanos says it is and you shall obey. Have A Nice Day

The Southern Strategy was a myth created by a Progressive media shill, plant who briefly infiltrated the Nixon administration.
If we're playing the "let's pull facts out our butts" game, I mean.
Mine has some factual basis though.

At least someone has the guts to call it as it is. http://mobile.reuters.com/article/idUSB ... 8?irpc=932$1: LONDON (Reuters) - Western sanctions on Russia for its attempts to annex the Ukrainian region of Crimea have so far been pathetic and European leaders must get tougher on Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin, a senior British lawmaker said on Tuesday.
The United States and the European Union have placed sanctions on some Russians and Ukrainians in response to a referendum in the Crimea region which Putin is signaling he will add to Russia.
"All that the international community has done so far is implement visa sanctions and asset freezes on 22 or 23 individuals - that is a pathetic response," Malcolm Rifkind, who chairs the British parliament's Intelligence and Security Committee, told the BBC.
Rifkind, a senior lawmaker in Prime Minister David Cameron's Conservative party, said the United States and European Union should get tougher with Putin, preferably with "very robust financial sanctions".
"Now it may be that as a result of what might happen that there will be a much tougher response including financial sanctions. If so that will be the right response," he said.
"But I hear very disturbing signs that it is unlikely there will be European consensus on that: that we might say ‘well only if Russia invades eastern Ukraine will it be necessary to go further'. That would be a shameful and very dangerous response."

The west is quickly becoming a laughing stock. http://mobile.reuters.com/article/idUSL ... 8?irpc=932$1: MOSCOW, March 18 (Reuters) - Russian lawmakers on Tuesday responded caustically to Western sanctions against officials involved in moves to annex Crimea, urging the United States and European Union to impose the same penalties on hundreds more members of parliament.
A declaration adopted unanimously by the State Duma lower house said: "We propose to Mr. Obama and the ... Eurobureaucrats to include all State Duma deputies who voted in favour of this resolution on the list of Russian citizens affected by U.S. and EU sanctions."
