You can't. So uncover your face when asked for ID. Then put the cover back on. Simple.

If we had this law in Vancouver there would be a lot of unhappy Chinese running around. They love to wear those little dust masks thingies.

Too bad for the Chinese.
Just as it is too bad for the nudists who are not allowed to be naked where ever they want. Suck it up, buttercup.

Coming into this thread late but in recent years I've changed my mind on banning the burqa.

It's not that we should be banning this thing on religious grounds but we SHOULD ban it because it's an affront to women's rights and a way for many modern societies to take a stand that says we care about equal rights.

The burqa also implies that as a man I cannot control my sexual urges so it's up to women to take on that burden. Both parts of that ideology are immoral.

Not all societies stand on equal ground morally. Some are more morally wealthy then others. Anyone who calls on banning this for religious reasons is missing the much larger picture. The idea that we have some people on this planet for think they have the right to control women and force them to dress in a symbolically oppressive way.

To the women that support the burqa I have no problems giving the finger. You are an enemy of equal rights for your sex and should be ashamed of yourselves. Wearing a headscarf is a symbol of modesty; wearing a burqa is a symbol of submission to men.

We should ban this as immoral and symbolic that we beleive in equality not due to religion or "security concerns". At least let's have the decency to take on the heat of being honest with why we ban it.

What pisses me off (what I read in the Dutch papers) is that the police don't think it really matters, so they will not enforce it. WTF??? You are not supposed to have a damned opinion, you are supposed to enforce the law, and this is one!

I am pretty sure btw, that when I walk into a gas station in the middle of the night with a ski mask on, you guys will arrest me. But not when I am wearing a burqa?

The police won't arrest you for walking into a gas station with a ski mask on, there's no law against it.

Probably won't arrest the attendant for pulling the baseball bat from under the counter and cracking you over the head with it if you do.
