$6,000,000.00 state of the art spy drone.
But we SAVED the taxpayers 99c by not putting in the self-destruct switch.
Give them a promotion!

I dunno if I buy into this..... The Iranians claimed they shot it down. So, we have two impacts. 1. Whatever was used to shoot it down as the Iranians claim and 2.the collision with the ground. This drone that Iran is showing is in perfect condition and a little different from the image that wiki is showing.

That's the problem with Iran and all the wankers in the theocratic dictatorship world.

They talk such bollocks most of the time it's tough to tell when they 'aint porky-pieing.

It looks very suspicious to me and the Yanks don't seem to be that arsed about it. I'm going with the premise that its more bollocks from guys who can't wear ties with suits but fasten their top button. Who does that?

Yes, I would have though there would be more screaming and yelling an a few other things to either get it back or destroy it, not that the USAF is in a position of taking the high moral ground on this. I hope at least they were able to fry the electronics for it ended up in Iranian hands.

You have seen the pictures Iran has posted of the drone the brought down, no?

Image

Compare that to the F-117 shot down over Bosnia.

Still think Iran's kool-aid is yummy?

Looks a lot more like that Nazi Horten Ho229 mock-up that the guys at National Geographic channel had made than anything the Americans have in their drone arsenal right now. This could be along the lines of a couple of years ago when the Iranians released a photo of their missile batteries that was laughed at as being one of the worst photoshop jobs of all time (except by the FOX News types, who used it as an excuse to do some more "nuke Tehran now" ranting). All in all this could be no more realistic than some sick clown living in his mom's basement amusing himself by merging photos of Britney Spears' or Angelina Jolie's faces onto the bodies of random pornstars.

I have some experience with UAV systems. The aircraft could have very easily just lost contact with base. When this happens, it's supposed to enter a lost link flight path, but this doesn't always get uploaded before takeoff. I bet the plane just ran out of fuel and coasted to the ground.

I'm sure you know a bit more about UAV's than most of us Dan, I just can't suss out why a supposed 'super-high tech UAV' cruising in a hostile environment along the Iranian border was brought down intact.

The other thing is we only see the airframe, no sneaky-beaky radars, cameras, guidance systems, ECM shit, uplink stuff etc.

I'm not convinced, especially when we all know that the Iranians are routinely economic with the truth on such matters and outright lying sacks of shite on everything else, bless 'em!

The glue seems a little sketchy. Send the kids who made it back to model camp.

I saved this photo so I could zoom it in.... It looks like drywall tape and there is a fairly good gap (hole) at the bottom of the wing.....

Why did it take a week for the Iranians to release the only photo?
Why did they not show where it crashed?

My guess is that the Iranians picked up some radio chatter about the US losing a drone and built one themselves out of chicken wire and wood and lots of puddy!

I searched high and low this afternoon and couldn't find anything that looks like this "drone". The air intake is so far off from all the other US stealth drones.

Israel and the UK have different style of drones, nothing even remotely close to this one.
