eureka eureka:
Do you seriously think that a Back Bencher submitted a Bill without Harper's approval? It would not happen in any Party.
With this CPC Party, not only does a Private Bill need Harper's blessing, but, usually, it will be on Harper's instructions. That has happened a few times as he brings his agenda to do those things that he has promised not to do out by stealth.
You seriously don't have a clue, so please take my suggestion....
Don't talk about things you don't know about. Don't pretend like you know what happened because you don't. You're spewing typical anti-Harper garbage.
I have first hand knowledge of this bill and this MP....I know the family. This bill was given it's blessing my the Heritage Minister, nobody else. Harper didn't instruct John to draw up the bill either...
I most certainly do have a clue. Lot's of clues and anyone who does not think it has Harper's blessing is living in La La Land. No Minister in this administration gives approval, or blessing, to any such Bill. Control is entirely in the PMO.
It would be unusual in any administration for a Bill to come before the House without the knowledge and consent of the Prime Minister of the day. IT possibly might have happened with a Clark or a Dion and their collegial approach but not too likely.
Every Private Bill that has been submitted since Harper has been related to the agenda. This is a smokescreen that echoes the claim to greater patriotism and diverts attention from the lack of action on the economic front (and other areas but economy is the danger of the moment). Your knowing the member does not make you privy to the inner workings of Cabinet.
I have known members, too. That does not tell me the whys of any particular action.
