Surprised the guy wasn't shot on sight, musta ran out of bullets. I don't think this guy is going to be going to one of Norway's rehabilitation centres. I hope they skin him alive.

Insane or evil, which term do we use to describe the extreme religious fanaticism(or for that matter, any form of fanaticism, be it religious or political) that seemed to motivate this man? This almost defies the imagination.

There is no term for this kind of act. The horror and the inhumanity defies description, logic, and belief.

Well, it happens all too often. Whether it's in the name of your tribe, your clan, your village/city, your nation, your god, caste, sect or your party....or even your team. The frequency with which it happens makes it all too believable.

92 dead now$1: Norwegian media reports describe Breivik as a right-wing extremist opposed to both Islam and multi-culturalism, and speculate that his farming business would have access to fertilizer that could be used to construct explosives.

First of all, this sickening massacre is possibly the worst in a non war zone scenario. RIP to all the victims.
But woah there didn't so many prematurely jump to conclusions that this was a muslim doing.
"Neo-nazi murders teenargers at a left wing anti racism camp." I haven't yet seen one headline that is truthful and upfront, you'd have to read deep between the lines to pick out neo nazi and anti racism camp. So much for left wing bias.
Ultimately left wing, right wing, nazi, or Islamic drone, these are the same fucked up people with fucked up ideologies. Nationalism, tribalism, religion, same shit, different public toilet....SMH....

I'd posted something else here but took it down. All I can say is that this picture has just broken my heart and I am done for the day.

Sock, I'm guilty. I read the first media reports and the fact that some Jihadis claimed it was their doing.
Let that be a lesson to me. As our Rick said; "Never believe the first or second reports on contact."
That aside, I see little difference in a right-wing christian fundamentalist and a Islamic fundamentalist. Both kill for no good reason. Religion is just an excuse.
Having spent a lot of my military life in Norge, my heart goes out to the people and the nation.
It's a sad day for humanity.

Isn't the reason that those sorts of conclusions aren't made by the news media is because they can really get it wrong? Assuming he's a neo-nazi, when he might just be batshit crazy? Plus, I thought this was a political party youth camp, not some "anti-racism" camp. I will admit that I did assume it was a Islamic terrorist attack, especially with the hoax claim by some organization for credit, but then again, people were jumping to conclusions in past incidents too. Natural human reaction.

When I first heard about the bombing in Oslo, with the initial mention of one dead, I thought "Fuck, not Al Qaeda"... Then I heard about the shooting on the island later, and knew it couldn't be.

In India, an Islamist group killed a lot of people by shooting in Mumbai.

In India, an Islamist group killed a lot of people by shooting in Mumbai. I doubt they were linked to Al Qaeda tho... They were linked to a Pakistani terror group supported by the ISI. Their main goal is "liberating" Kashmir. But I don't see a big diff between them and Al Qaeda. They are all Islamist nutbars. Since the Mumbai massacre was so effective, people have been warning that we could expect to see more shooter types of attacks from Islamist groups.
