While I'm all for freedom of speech; at best I think this is stupid and pointless. We are not at war with ISlam we are at war with terrorists. There is a BIG difference.
The guy running this knows it is insulting to law abiding non-Moslems yet he insists on something that reminds of Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin; not our finest moment.

Unfortunately thats not the case with ol Rev Jones alonf with many including some here, The good rev also has a book out called "Islam is the Devil" So you can guess what he really thinks.

According to the atheists on here burning a Bible is something to be proud of. That point established, I again state that if burning or mistreating a Bible and or other Christian iconography is both legal and socially acceptable then so is buring a koran, making cartoons of Mohammed, and etc.
If instead of a fringe preacher/attention whore doing this it were a secular humanist artist calling the koran BBQ an important piece of performance art I've little doubt that most of the liberals weighing in here would either be silent on the issue or supporting it.
Who is doing this is far more the issue to some of you than what he is doing.

To be really honest I personally feel disgusted by all the perversion that happens in the name of art
How can any of that be art or have anything to do with it. Just plain disgusting.

So again, because someone calling himself an Atheist says something, ALL Atheists say the same? I think I made my point pretty clear, as an Atheist, so you might as well have used my point and say that NO Atheist agrees with the Koran burning and thinks ANY holy book or country's flag should not be touched. But you didn't.

Well Bart this Liberal Artist would not. Instead of dealing with "ifs" why not deal with the reality of the issue at hand. The man is a hate mongering fool and should be dealt with as such. ![Drink up [B-o]](./images/smilies/drinkup.gif)

Personally I believe in free speech. And, the Koran, the bible etc are just books - paper with words on them. If individuals want to burn their books, I don't care. They tried it with Catcher in the Rye and others and it just made them more popular.
Actually this is a good test - if you get all bent out of shape because somebody burns a book they own that happens to be spatial to you, you''ve got a problem, not just them.
OTOH, book burning done by the state is always a problem and should not be condoned.
