I think the only way we'll ever see a Tea Party here is if someone rents the Lobby in the Empress. ![Drink up [B-o]](./images/smilies/drinkup.gif) Ain't never gonna happen.

BartSimpson BartSimpson: According to Beck on Saturday he was hoping that America was of God, not the other way around. Which echoes Abraham Lincoln who said that he did not presume that God was on the side of the Union, he much preferred that the Union be on the side of God. We are not enemies, but friends. We must not be enemies. Though passion may have strained, it must not break our bonds of affection. The mystic chords of memory, stretching from every battlefield and patriot grave to every living heart and hearthstone all over this broad land, will yet swell the chorus of the Union when again touched, as surely they will be, by the better angels of our nature.
-Abraham LincolnExplain please how the Mormon televangelist ("progressives are a disease") managed to miss these two salient bolded points whilst standing right in front of the memorial dedicated to the man who first spoke them. The 'better angels of our nature' are appallingly few and far between amongst the right-wing element of your countrymen these days, fella.

You're talking about Lincoln. Listen to the interviews sometimes, these ppl can barely express WTF they want. "Going back. God. America going communist". Years into this Tea Party bullshit and I have absolutely no idea what the basic concepts are to make it a movement, I might as well ask drunk teenagers. The spokesperson that are literate all pronounce some retrogressive, bigoted, or fundamental Christian gibberish.

It's kind of hard to take any 'movement' seriously too when, anytime they're interviewed, they're all sitting around in lawn chairs set up on the well-manicured grass of a PUBLICALLY-FUNDED park. And most of them appear to be well-fed. Extremely well-fed.

The way they interchange God and America, I'm quite sure most of them God is American. AS for Beck, I can see him having something in common with Moses calling on Yahweh to plague the Earth, but Jesus Christ doesn't exactly leap to mind when I hear him speak.
