The fuckers who tax us should have thought about the fact that there are choices ken.

Funy how you complain about high tax and fees and yet your perfectly willing to see Canadians pay high taxes for unneeded defence programs .

Think of the Billions upon Billions we could save from making lifetime welfare recipients work doing simple jobs that current public union employees are getting paid $35 an hour plus benefits.

I know you love to talk about the 19 Billion dollar price tag of these jets but the reality is that these costs will be paid over 30 years and will be needed to defend our north.

Sorry but I take pride in working for a living. I have all weekend to be lazy. I don't need to be lazy 7 days a week.

I really don't believe union workers are lazy, they demand fair wages and benefits so people label them.. you wouldn't have a 40hr work week, benefits, pensions if it wasn't for the unions. I am a union worker. I work 12hr shifts, usually short and run my ass off for that 12 hrs. I get 2 15 min breaks a shift and a 30 min lunch break ( which is usually only 15 mins. So I get a little pissed when people like you who don't know what they are talking about make stupid comments based on hearsay.

Nah, TTC guy (Toronto Transit Commission) on a pretty decent hourly rate of $30.

You guys in Quebec never get the news from Canada? It's a pretty famous shot.

Nice, and how would one go about getting one of these TTC jobs?

I suppose these plush union jobs are willed to family members, much like alot of the mill and ferry jobs were out here at one time.

I worked at a company of 50 employees and 4 of them got lured away by the TTC to be drivers. Our skilled auto parts workers gave up their trade for the TTC pension. They were 40 something. They got in.

I have no doubt that unions had a place in the labour force. The operative word here is "had". Back then, there were no labour boards. Unions are no longer needed. In fact they often do more damage long term than good. Case in point GM, Chrysler, Ford, Canada Post etc. Honda, which has a plant in Ontario has been opening new plants just as GM closes theirs. My buddy who is a unionized electrician for the past 15 years has yet to work two consecutive years without being laid off. Even though he is struggling to get by, he can't work for a non unionized company because he will be blacklisted from his union. Instead he stays home and collect pogey.
