PimpBrewski123 PimpBrewski123:
EyeBrock EyeBrock:
I thnk some of you guys need to get a thicker skin. Support for the military has historically been lower in Quebec than any other province in Canada.

Sure, on that part I agree with you. But then, I can say with a certain confidence that there is favourable support for the troops in the Quebec City area and I should know. In other parts of the province, perhaps I cannot say for sure.

But that's no reason for someone purposely post the article with the sole intent to slander, standing from his other defaming comments on previous similar issues. That's all I am gonna say about it, not gonna drag this any further.

As for that particular group, I am also waiting to hear more. Not many are familiar with them. But they obviously seem like anarchist radicals.

I agree with you and others posting might have a different agenda.

I'm sure the name of this group was just thought up for the moment. I didn't read this post initially because I assumed it was a natural gas explosion - how often do we get this shit in Canada? To me, this is a totally different kettle of fish than a few black bloc kicking in windows, tho i can see how the two groups might be connected. These guys, Brock, assuming you get the right guys and all, i would be much more in sympathy with you if you ran riot over them.

Hey RD, I have been wrong in the past about Quebec topics. Guys like you and Pimp gave me some good input.

I think people believe too much of the propaganda about the Quebecois. It's not as cut-and-dry as some Anglos think.
As mentioned, there are plenty of Quebecois in the CF and plenty have died in Afghanistan making that point. RIP brothers.

I'm also a big fan of another mis-understood Canadian clan, the Newfies.

The ultimate solution to the ongoing and recurring issues with Quebeck will be resolved one of two ways:

1. Let Quebeck separate.

2. Make English the one national language of Canada.

One of these days you know you folks will have to pick one. The same thing is going on in Belgium where a two-language nation is looking at partition along linguistic and cultural lines.

Not necessarily Bart.

For one, we can certainly co exist. Each province need show consideration towards each other. There have been instances where those who criticize a province have never been to that particular region. This goes both sides, Many separatists have never been outside their own province. Then again, the same could be said for some in the ROC that have a habit to bash Quebec. Get to know the place instead of constantly relying on polls this and that.

Also, I am not gonna run to vote for the PQ or Bloc Quebecois, yes in an eventual referendum, simply based on derogative comments of a couple or so from the ROC.

I agree Pimp.

On my trips to Quebec, I have always been treated well. It helps if you try a bit of French. Even with my strong Manchester accent, it always goes down well.

Nice to hear, mate!

As for travelling and visiting, IMO it sure helps to discover different regions and their particular traditions or cultures.

I have spoken to several people throughout Canada. For the most part, many have enjoyed and said they loved Quebec. Some dislikes due to mostly presumption. One instance where someone told me that she had travelled thru Quebec and was told to go the f*ck home, by some ignorant nitwit . That is really shameful and explained to her that most people are very welcoming and friendliness.

The same could be said by some ignorant Quebecers, mostly nationalists. Eventhough they have never been outside QC, they say that some particular provinces such as Alberta sucks without even having been there, but that's probably from what they heard from others.

herp a derp wtf are you talking about?! Those are not options at all. Especially the second one because that would just lead to the first. Canadians, Anglo and Franco, just need to be a little more receptive and understanding of each other and try to learn a bit more. In my opinion, if Canada had a single school curriculum across all provinces and territories that taught an unbiased account of Canadian history instead of the 13 different curricula some of which teach revisionist history, some of which don't teach history at all. If we all just knew a little more about each other we'd all see that we aren't really different, except for the language....but that can solved too.

Back on topic though, I wouldn't be so quick to label these guys the new FLQ. They're far-left liberal internationalists, that is to say stateless/nationless individuals. At least ideologically speaking. I'll wait until they state specifically that they support the idea of an independent Quebec before I start ranting about separatism. I doubt they'd have the balls to kidnap anyone anyways, and they'd be found way before that could even happen.

Like it or not, I'm just stating the facts as I see them.

I'd have put in the third option of requiring everyone to be bilingual but that's more or less already the case and it is not working.

You seem to have the facts wrong.

Okay, so tell me what you folks propose to satisfy the separatists and everyone else so you all live in peace?

Because, point of fact, what you're doing is obviously not working for some people.
