Well usually Christian countries would work towards the betterment of Christendom. They wouldn't work for the betterment of Hinduism or Islam or Taoism or whatnot. So, either the Christian backgrounds of both nations somehow matter over the Iraq War, or they're secular countries which waged war for secular reasons.

Well, Charlie's Hammer posited that Islam is intent on conquering the west, and I pointed out the US/British invasion of Iraq in rebuttal. I only mentioned that they were predominately Christian in order to point out they were not "Islam" countries, therefore his claim about Islam intent on conquering "the west" has certainly not proved to be an issue in most recent history.

There are Muslims who renounce the passages in the Koran that call for killing the Jews and they are called apostates for their troubles. Ayaan Hirsi Ali is a perfect example of such individuals.

If you really want to be offended, you should read Tom Kratman's novel Caliphate. It's supposed to be SF but really turns out to be nothing more than far right wing political ideology masquerading as SF, in which American muslims and Hispanics are put on boats and shipped back home (one of many horrible things the author seems to revel in).

The reason why I stay "silent" is because if you respond or condemn to those with excessively stupid opinions (of any sort), you're really just feeding the trolls. And what happens when you feed the trolls? The trolls get louder and sillier.

You know who's willing to have a discussion, and who's wanting to be an ass. If you really want to beat a troll, it's better to outsmart them then try to insult them. I'm sorry, old chum, but Islam has repeatedly proven itself to be incompatible with free societies and I'll continue to oppose them. I do sympathize with you, personally, as I imagine it causes you much consternation to see the liberal Europeans whom you've oft set up as an example to me starting to stand up to the Islamic imperialism within their borders.

When you and I first had this kind of conversation some years ago I will say that you moderated my more severe opinions. Thank you.

That said, I would hope that the daily news that comes out of Europe anymore would moderate your opinions.
