Reminds me of a time I went shopping for a used car.
I told the dealer what I wanted and what I was looking to pay and he searched their data base and turned up what I was looking for in Calgary. So we hashed out a price and he printed off the stats and I would come back the next day to do the paperwork.
Next day comes, he tells me that vehicle is not available any more, it had already been sold or some such thing. BUT, there is this other one almost the exact same but with this and that extra for only another couple of grand.
I told him we made a deal for the other car but if he wanted to give me this one at the price of the other, sure. He wouldnt go for it so I walked out.

A week later I went to another dealer of the same brand of car. Asked for the same vehicle as I had originally been looking for. He searched his database and lo and behold it was the SAME vehicle the other guy told me he found but had become unavailable. I know this because I kept the printout from the first dealer.
I never mentioned anything to this second saleman about the first.
So I started dealing with this guy for the vehicle. When we were done haggling, I was very clear about the price we agreed on being the bottom line including taxes, no other charges, etc.
He was in agreement with it and I said I would talk to the wife and get back to him Monday. Monday comes, I call him to say we would buy the car.
I go in to do the paperwork and the bottom line is a couple grand more than what we agreed on. He gives me a bs line about taxes and shipping costs.
I walked away from that one too.
Salesman are for the most part slimeballs in my opinion. I am sure there are some good ones, but they have one goal and that is to talk you into spending as much as possible for as little as possible in return.

That is called a "bait & switch" and its illegal.

A good method I've heard is to go into the dealership with several other choices you are looking to purchase and say you are on the fence between the cars but if he is willing to offer a deal and put it in writing you would be willing to deal with him.

Brenda Brenda:
They offered her a loan she is not eligible for, they sold her a car she didnt came in for in the first place, they overpriced everything on the car she didnt want,

To you these bullet points are complaints, to just about any employer in retail sales these are resume items.

If I was in the business of selling something I'd be calling these guys RIGHT NOW and offering them a job.
