Actually, if you'd read up a little on the history of the HST instead of just running your mouth about everything being Harpers fault, you'd have learned that the HST is actually a Liberal economic invention, which, the Federal Conservatives foisted on two fiscally incompetent Provincial LIBERAL Governments.

So I guess the saying "what goes around comes around" is actually true in this case.

I read in the Economist years ago that taxes change over time. Governments move them off some areas and onto others. For example Mulroney moved the manufactoring tax over to the GST. It's not politically popular to do this, but it is part of macro economics. I'm reading in this thread that the BC HST has a provision to move taxes off of capital investment. So this is an example.
