Gee to listen to some of the opponents of corporal punishment, you'd think that people were beating their kids 24/7. I can count the times I was spanked as a child on one hand. The threat was there and often, that is all that was needed. I also remember getting a hand placed on the back of my neck and getting a 'squeeze' when I was stepping out of line. Too many of these folk don't uderstand the difference between punishment and abuse. There is a distinction.
