“The Liberals (coalition) made the Conservatives do it” argument is nuts. What the hell happened to “fiscally Conservative”? These jerks are so obsessed with remaining in power in exclusion to all else that they’ll bend over for anyone to get a vote.

Before the usual suspects start pointing fingers again, the Liberals have yet to show anything better so I don’t know what they’d do. There’s no ignoring the fact they did do it better in the past although I always felt we were being ripped off then too. This is costing my children and grandchildren this time.

This is indefensible by anyone and to even try is childish and petty. Harper and the crew have to go. I just don’t know any more if anyone is going to be any better.

I think this was the coalition economic plan.

nice try there ruez.. this is a result of and only of the "flawherty and harper " mismanagement of the public fund.. get your head out of your ass and admit blame where it is! THE TORYS

Really? The Liberals were demanding bailouts not too long ago, while the Conservatives were saying nothing needs to be bailed out. Now the Liberals have their bailouts, and they're complaining the it cost more money than the government has, which any imbecile should have known would happen.

The conservatives said we were flush with money and could afford tax cuts and spending increases. Now they are complaining there isn't enough money?

Well that has been my point my-old-PC mate. Any suggestions?

I think the time is ripe for a new Canadian centerist party that encompasses slightly left and right of centre.

The lot we have now are crap.

A centrist party, isn't that what the CPC has morphed into recently?

She was a scapegoat for Mulroney when he bailed. A woman scorned like that would be dangerous if given the power again!

She truly was thrown to the wolves in a brutal way. Pity. She never had any chance to prove anything.

Whichever government is in power, we would still be in a financial hole. Blaming any single entity is nonsense.

For the partisan hacks out there, the world in in recession, of which Canada is a part.

The difference is that neither the Libs or the NDP would be in this deep and had either one of them been in charge then none of the people currently giving Harper the big pass would find this deficit acceptable. This forum would consist on nothing but attack threads decrying the tax and spend leftists philosophy and proclaiming to all that a conservative government would never have done this. Much like they did before, during, and just after the last election.
