I find nothing funny about suicide or attempted suicide. Anyone who gets as far as trying to kill themselves needs some serious counselling. I just don't see anything funny about that.

I'll concede that you may have a point in as much as I have to admit that No, I probably wouldn't have responded in such a fashion 'in person'. I likely wouldn't have said a word to him. I WOULD HAVE smacked him right in the mouth!

I grew up with, and still live by the credo 'Is it worth it'? Sometimes the answer is 'NO' and sometimes the answer is 'Yes'. This one is a definite 'YES'!

I live by the same credo and I too would find an assault charge worth the yes.

I think if it had been you or someone, even many someone's close to you. You may have a different perspective on his comment irregardless of his age. He is old enough to know compassion or lack there of .

It wasn't funny, therefore, not many are laughing.

As someone who has lost friends to suicide, I find it particularly vulgar.

3 pages... Wasn't expecting that (thought it'd be looked over like my
"Heads will roll" comments about the Greyhound Beheading)

Anyway... Nova, I have attempted suicide... And there are people
in my life who have failed, and some have succeeded.

As a teenager, I deal with people bitching about suicide everyday.
Kids coming to school with huge deep gashes in their arms, or right after
getting their stomach pumped after swallowing the medicine cabinet...

After my little pathetic suicidal moments, I've created comedy out of it
and made sure I wouldn't consider such a foolish and ridiculous option again.

Don't think I'm beyond helping these people or anything.

Laugh at your own attempts then if that helps you cope, and share your observations if you think there is value.

But spare the rest of us your immature and insensitive observations of the issues of others.
