Well, they do tell us that it's not for use in homes with children. I know crime is higher in the U.S. than here, but it's not that high. Why do they feel they must be armed 24/7? What are they afraid of?

I agree and would go further, Fifeboy, and suggest one of the reasons you have so much random violence in the US is BECAUSE people are armed to the teeth everywhere. You give people guns and then people make impulsive, stupid decisions. If they're not armed, the potential for the loss of life or serious injury is dramatically reduced.

I mean seriously - let's imagine someone starts acting violently or even pulls out a gun at a Church. Do you want everyone else pulling out more guns and starting a shootout???

I'm well aware thanks but my point is simply that we don't go waving them around in government on the streets that's why we have a lower rate of crime around them. they are for the most part locked up or kept under control thus the idea of "no guns". You never see them in the streets and you would certainly never hear of a "right to bear arms" in Canada.

I'm not sure what country you're from but to me "no guns" means a lack of guns. Not a lack of unlocked guns.

I define it as a lack of people walking around with guns loaded and ready to use. I guess our look at it varies. Frankly I don't know why you would feel the need to walk around with a gun all the time.
