Would I ever like to have a "discussion" with this Streaker character.

I'd be willing to take bets that he'd gladly apologize for every disparaging remark he's made about our service members.

Oh you're right. Instead of posting a picture, I should have flexed my e-muscles too and threatened to beat someone up.

Instead you flexed your E-Vagina and suggested we hug it out. What's the difference?

I thought Native groups wanted more autonomy and self-government? Why on Earth would they want to be represented symbolically in their alleged oppressor's coats of arms? This is the kind of junk that I can't stand - either become members of Canadian society (which means no more dole or whining about their station in life) OR opt out and go it alone with NO financial assistance from the federal government. Pick a route, but people need to stop enabling the plastic Canadians in the aboriginal community.

Why don't you become a member of Canadian society and accept us for our differences and realize that all of us in this country add value to the meaning of "Canadian". Canadian society is First Nation, English, Muslum, Chineese, African, American, Icelantic, Ukranian, etc, etc.
Those who don't understand that or reject that are the real non-Canadians.
If you valued our differences and accepted them then we would be a step closer to solving te problems you bring up on a daily basis, and we would be less likely to repeat the erors of our forefathers.
That goes equally for us red skinned folk as it does for any other colour of Canadian. We are all in this together.
Thats what our coat of arms should represent. Though the unicorn is kind of cool...

And 'together' is what we all got to get, or it ain't going to work!

Our Coat of Arms should not reflect any single culture or group. It should stay with 'generalizations' of what Canada was and what it is now.

Since lions are not native to Canada, I suggest that the lion on the left be replaced with a pitbull-they are pretty mean lookin critters. The unicorn could be replaced with our own mythical creature,- the sasquatch- and overseeing it should be our national bird, - the 'LOONIE'-!

The coat of arms is just fine. This Pat Martin defeats the whole purpose of aboriginal land claims, self autonomy, government etc. Natives could care less about this country's coat of arms yet this pserson is promulgating such a thing. Doesn't make sense for them to be on this country's coat of arms where it can be percieved as them having 'a little bit of everything' sense. "We have self-government and autonomy yet we dictate this countries symbols because Canadians are too worried about leaving out a cultural context...what next? The Chinese flag as a second flag of Canada by popular demand? Yes they were a part of creating this country but thats the point, they weren't interested in this country but rather a means to an end for themselves.

So really what you are doing is dismissing the contributions of Canadians not reflected in the coat of arms and expecting/forcing them to conform to your vision of Canada.

Not all natives care about land claims or self government or anything else like that, but are still proud First Nations people. Just as I understand not every white person is a card carrying member of the KKK, we have our own opinins and goals in life too.

My "vision of Canada"? "Forcing"? What the hell are you talking about? I said most aboriginals don't care so why should it be an issue? Why bother have them in the coat of arms if they want self-governance. I said the coat of arms is just fine the way it is and because some other culture feels 'left-out', it shouldn't be changed.

Great......what exactly was your point in this other than to give me a negitive feedback when you offer nothing yourself?

Yeah, you really made that clear on this thread Re: Catholic Church in Canada should apologise to Native Canadia

Hypocrite.

This likening of aboriginal Canadians to the Chinese is at best very clumsy.
