I really don't think the judge being appointed by the Libs is a very big deal. What is rather curious though is why did Elections Canada have to a judge in Toronto for the search warrant. Were they looking for someone who would be more sympathetic to their cause? Did they attempt to get a warrant in Ottawa and if they did were they declined?

Yeah! This does have a south of the border (Mexico) smell to it. Media attendance makes it look aweful suspicious.

I saw that too.

First warrant is refused by a judge so none of the others in Ottawa want to approve it either. Rather than change the warrant, they shop around till they find one who will approve it.

Very strange..

More plausibly, can be that Ottawa's judges are punished for doing to much lobbying for a pay rise.

ridenrain ridenrain:
So where was this story? This is a big Liberal red flag that something is wrong, mtbr calls shenanigans and to pove him wrong, you come up with a list of stories that don't show this story.

Yep ride, you are right. Only one of these items is about this story, and it did not include the main news event of the year; that being that Elections Canada and its Harper appointed head went all the way to TORONTO to find a judge who had been appointed by the LIBERALS! So, look at what is shown. The story posted by mtbr was in that noted right wing rag, the Montreal Gazette, which is owned by that really right wing organization CanWest Global, directed by that anti Liberal Party of Canada family THE ASPERS. If it hadn't been for these Conservative Party HEROS and truth sayers, we would never have heard about this very important story.

l
ridenrain ridenrain:

All they show is more smear.
I am sorry rain, the story about the priest who floated off in the lawn chair and helium filled party balloons was not an allegory of Steven Harper's time as P.M. although it does seem like it.

ridenrain ridenrain:
I bet if we stitched over to CBC we'd get Gomeshi interviewing some lame ass Toronto band about the song they wrote about Harper's hair.

Well, why don't you listen, I myself don't like Q and turn off the radio when it comes on. You can tell us about it.
ridenrain ridenrain:
I'm guessing that after Elections Canada finds the CPC right, this will all sink and you goofs will go back to scraping up muck somewhere else. I thought Warren Kinsella's campaigns were muck raking but I guess desperate times call for sad and pathetic actions.

And which national media outfit does this guy work for, I don't seem to have read or heard too much from him. A blog you say--where is censorship when we need it.

I bet CTV or CBC will never put this little tidbit in their headlines

Still haven't and never will. The question has not even been raised by any other media group.

Maybe because it's not really newsworthy... 8O

Typical. The focus isn't about something the Cons did wrong. Oh no, we can't be discussing that. Instead, we have to divert attention to make it look like the Libs have yet another scandal!!!.

It's no wonder we can't take y'all very seriously.

Theres plenty of threads about what they allegedly did, this is not one of them.

Indeed, there was no blood to be expected. But the conservative escaping the lens through the staircase was something.

I'll admit that was a gross media circus and, I hope, the biggest PR gaff that they make. There's a number of folks calling for a head over that one. The reasoning behind it was to prune out the hacks but it was a bad idea and very poorly done.

I find it all depressing. Not sure about the relevance of which party appointed the judge, they are supposed to be impartial.

I'm not sure if the words "Media attendance" are quite strong enough, more like a media convention. Christ, considering the fact that no one was tipped off there sure was a hell of a lot cameras there. The whole thing stinks.

"RCMP RAID!!!" umm, ya. Not according to the RCMP. They were there simply because Elections Canada requested their attendance.

"SCANDAL!!!" ya, this whole thing was a big secret, that’s why it was all ready up in front of the courts prior to the big "RCMP RAID!!!".

I personally think the Canadian media has an axe to grind with Harper for him giving them the cold shoulder in the past.

Trust me I know too well. He hasn't really gone out of his way to mend fences with the press and he's paying the price for it.
