Tricks Tricks: Wow gang attacking people is fun isn't it.
You aren't seriously saying Hurley and I are "gang attacking" Bart are you?
I'm certainly not "attacking Bart" and Bart isn't getting any treatment from Hurley he hasn't dished out or isn't capable of handling.
I've gone up against 4 opponents at once before and that was alot more acidic then this.
Barts not made of sugar.

It seems like every time you see one of these Global Warming is killing the Polar Bears stories you'll see the name Ian Stirling. He's kind of like the James Hansen of polar bears.
Ever seen this article, where the Churchill old-time guides were responding to the claims of Stirling and his groupies?
$1: Dennis Compayre raises bushy grey eyebrows as he listens to the environmentalists predict the polar bear's demise.
"They say the numbers are down from 1,200 to around 900, but I think I know as much about polar bears as anyone, and I tell you there are as many bears here now as there were when I was a kid," he says as the tundra buggy rattles back to town across the rutted snowscape.
"Churchill is full of these scientists going on about vanishing bears and thinner bears.
"They come here preaching doom, but I question whether some of them really have the bears' best interests at heart.
After almost three months of working with those who know the Arctic best - among them Inuit Indians, who are appalled at the way an animal they have lived beside for centuries has become a poster species for "misinformed" Greens - Nigel Marven finds himself in broad agreement.
"I think climate change is happening, but as far as the polar bear disappearing is concerned, I have never been more convinced that this is just scaremongering.
"People are deliberately seeking out skinny bears and filming them to show they are dying out. That's not right.
Source
Here's the thing. The arctic ice pack froze this year at record speed, and there's lots of it. So they have to go at this global warming is killing the bears from a different angle. There's lots of ice. Then can't say the bears are dying from a lack of it. So now Stirling invents this theoretical cock and bull story about this year's ice being different from any ice the bears have seen before. Now the seals are playing hide and go seek with the bears in too many layers of new ice. This new ice he says is different than any the bears have previously encountered. Polar bears have been around for at least 110,000 years During that time there have been multiple periods when the climate in polar bear country was as warm or warmer as it was during recent arctic warming, and this year's cooling. The bears have seen this ice before. They survived.
Oh and...
South Beaufort sea polar bears were still killing and eating each other back in 2004.

First off, your research fails to take into account the fact that all those thousands of years ago there were not humans killing the bears more effectively then anything on record. Any stress on the bears caused by global warming is exacerbated by human predation. Your research also fails to take into account that during those periods in the past they likely did suffer from greatly diminished populations.
Second, don't cite past times when it was warm as proof it is normal, expected, or nont caused by man. The earth was previously nothing but volcanic rock also and we don't want that to happen.
That the earth was warming before does not mean that this current warming is natural and not cause by human activity.

But I've been told I can be kinda sweet at times.
All kidding aside, Dr. Stirling said he'd never seen polar bear cannibalism before yet he himself documented it in his 1999 book and as the expert he reportedly is he is also aware of some other works on the same subject:
LUNN, N.J., and STENHOUSE, G.B. 1985. An observation of possible cannibalism by polar bears (Ursus maritimus). Canadian Journal of Zoology 63:1516–1517.
TAYLOR, M., LARSEN, T., and SCHWEINSBURG, R.E. 1985.
Observations of intraspecific aggression and cannibalism in polar bears (Ursus maritimus). Arctic 38:303– 309.
Again, this is old news that has absolutely NOTHING to do with global warming one way or the other.

Yes it is right. Thats the nature of debates and if Bart has a problem with it then he will address that problem.
This is so far from a bashing debate.

How about for a minute we don't look at what they guy is saying but look at the guy. Why is he considered an expert?

hurley_108 hurley_108: BartSimpson BartSimpson: Yes, I see how you did your link. Scape used to lecture me on it, too. I still do not care. Jackass. You fuck up the page for everyone when you don't embed a link that's more than the screen width. That you don't care to type a few extra characters, or even use the handy button, just proves what a jerk you are.
I configure my browser to reformat my views to my preferences so it is not an issue for me. That you don't care to learn how to properly adjust your browser just proves what a jerk you are.

You keep bringing up past incidents of bear cannibalism as evidence but its quite evident what Stirling is referring to.
If abnormally high temperatures are forcing bears to look for alternate food sources then yes it does have to do with global warming.

Because of all of the research of his own that he ignores?

His credentials from bonafide sources attest to that. His body of work and peer-reviewed publications and his internation reputation also establish his credentials.

Global warming has been proven as a fact by the majority of scientists. You can try to disprove it but you will be unsuccessful. Dont be brainwashed by exxon and other oil companies trying to make even more profits as they destroy the earth. The only good thing is that the earth will still be here after the oil companies will be long gone. I only hope the earth is not a barren planet that wont sustain life after they are done with their greed.
