Well I know thats probably going to have some people jumping up and down. However it was fitting.

Thing to remember Mr. Heston was not only a president and lobbyist for the interests of the NRA Watch the movie bowling for columbine. The interview at the end. I think personally hurt Mr. Heston.

He will be remembered as an actor who delivered some of the greatest lines in history, He was a fantastic actor. (even though Joey used his shower in that eposode of friends)

He should also be remembered as a man who tried to make a difference in Civil rights in the 50's.

The interiew at the end and the NRA convention shown in the movie both took place BEFORE the Columbine tragedy and Michael Moore presented them out of context in order to make it look like they took place AFTER the tragedy. Moore has admitted this publicly.

The affect on Heston's reputation was only with those ignorant enough not to check their facts.

There were actors before the Stanislavsky Method and what they did on screen was play themselves. They did not "get into character" as we see with actors these days, they read their lines and were really just being themselves on screen.

Heston merely was the last of a (literally) dying breed.

Funny people only dwell on the fact Mr Heston was president of the NRA and wish to portrait him as some sort of right wing nut. When in fact he was a strong believer in the American Constitution and civil rights. These same people forget he believed strongly in civil liberties and was a supporter of Martin Luther King, opposed the Vietnam war and marched in peace walks....he was never afraid to lend his name to a cause he believed in.

I get pissed just knowing I share the same friggin planet as Michael Moore. Why that waste of skin has yet to backstop a bullet, is merely a testament to the principles that Mr. Heston stood for. A man like that is usually the target of slime like Moore as they lack the same vitures.
