I just heard from Charlton Heston, apparently Moses didnt have a beard and they have made up an 11th Commandment,
"Thou shalt not play the same part in EVERY movie you make."
There were actors before the
Stanislavsky Method and what they did on screen was play
themselves. They did not "get into character" as we see with actors these days, they read their lines and were really just being themselves on screen.
Heston merely was the last of a (literally) dying breed.
