Chinese authorities are so used to lying and getting away with it, that they don't know how to deal with the Western press and Westerners asking pointed questions.

$1:
I wonder what liberal fascists like Maurice Strong, Jean Chretien and Paul Desmarais have to say after all their hard work (and deceit) to promote trade with China?

Actually, I think it was more a case of Canada looking to stop depending on the slipping US of A and knowing that China was destined to become the world's next superpower and they wanted to make sure that Canada didn't miss the chance. All the while turning a blind eye to the atrocities...

$1:
Let's kick China in the teeth and by not buying their products. Let's start by not shopping at Wal-mart...!!!! Let's stop adopting their orphans and raising them as Canadians...!!!!!!

I'm gonna laugh on behalf of the Chinese at that statement. ROTFL

China knows that no one is going to stop buying their shitty products any time soon. And boycotting Wal-Mart? That's the equivalent of one person refusing to eat at MacDonald's; they are so enormous that is doesn't even matter to them...

But this part, I don't get the logic behind... :?

$1:
Let's stop adopting their orphans and raising them as Canadians...!!!!!!

I fail to see how refusing to adopt Chinese orphans and raising them as proud, english-speaking Canadians is really sticking it to China, who will do nothing but let the children starve, die of disease, or even kill them off... :?

China doesnt care what the world says or thinks about them, they have a brutal regime who wouldnt think twice if a billion chinese were wiped out tomorrow.Other coutries arent going to complain to hard either because if China opened its gates and let everyone out the world would be flooded with Chinese refugees, and what would we do with them.

I agree with you. This statement isn't a simple one. From one point of view Canada would gain new citizens for it's own benefit, what is good, but on the other side Canada would let in potential Judases. I rather stick to the first point of view - Canada would gain new great citizens.

I really like Chinese Canadians :D Yesterday I met this group from Vancouver. It was great :)

In Poland there is this book written by Adam Mickiewicz titled "Konrad Wallerod". It tells about a Lithuanian boy raised by Teutonic Knights (Germans). He grew up to be a high ranked night and was very Germanized but finally he decides to join the Lithuanians, and becomes a spy that destroys the Teutonic order from inside.
But:
the Teutonic Order was evil - Lithuania was good.
Canada is good - China is evil.

The only way to hit the Chinese where it hurts is taking away there cash that comes in, for example. The Olympics. You can write protest letters to the sponsors of it, then write all over the net to get people from other countries to do the same. Eventually (If people care, and actually do it). These companys will get mass e-mails of protest threating to stop using there products if they still sponsor the olympics. As a company, they would have to take them seriously and when you get MASS e-mails for people all over the world. That's a lot of money loss to them, not going to do much damage to companys like McDonalds or CocaCola but any big loses of money I think they would try to avoid.

Also if Canada is still giving China money, for whatever reason it was. I think we should write letters of protest to our Government asking them to stop.

Also if a global effort was made to stop buying Chinese products, that would be a kick in the teeth as well as China's growing economy depends on all these exports. However I seriously doubt anybody will be doing that. It takes such a effort to get everybody to care enough about people in Tibet to get them to do that.

Another would be to not take Vacations to China so they don't get any Tourism money. Not that anybody would even want to go there anyways.

"For our Vacation in China, we spent almost all our money on this very small apartment. Shopping was impossible because of all the population, and going to a resteraunt was impossible as the seats were always full. I was stabbed and mugged a couple times, my GF was raped. Once by thugs, and then when we reported it to the police. A second time by Police Officers. What a trip!".

I am not good in economy but as I think, we could replace MADE IN CHINA with MADE IN INDIA or BANGLADESH or PAKISTAN. Honestly IMHO Africa someday will replace China.

Easy to do.
Any way most people don't go to china during their lives.

Isn't someone exaggerating? I know lots of people that were in China. They liked it.

There is a chance I'll see Harper in a few weeks. He'll probably be at my University. If I have a chance I might tell him something. What should I?
