They expanded the alert area to include the Highway out of town. Just an alert, but as part of it they're ceasing a lot of industrial (logging) traffic and mills sending people home as a result. They have to keep it open in case of an evacuation order for the town and to bring in supplies.

Fire Information Resource Management System

Don't use resources like these. Listen to your panicky Mayor (the wind could pick up and blow it here in 10 minutes) and gossip on Facebook instead. Way more fun.
Radio mentioned that many stores are closing here, just wish they mentioned it's because their staff all ran away already...
Smart to voluntarily evacuate early if you have kids, medical problems or livestock that need to go. Down to only 1 place to fill up now, the Band Office realized you can leave these prepay pumps ON and you don't need anyone to man the store. And unlike a Hollywood movie, we'd all use our bank card to fill up the neighbour instead of shoot them and steal their ammo, food and fuel....

I wish I was breathing hickory over the barby instead of packing papers, bedding and wishing I had a pet carrier cuz if I go to where I can buy one, they may not let me back in to shove the cat in it...
Over 1/2 the town's self evacuated already, hotels within 4 hours drive are all filled and it looks like we'll be joining them later this afternoon. My daughters got a spare room and she's been bugging us to come there all week.
I hate the thought of leaving my home before I absolutely have to, thinking of sending the wife and pup and staying behind with the cat. If the highway closes, there's one logging road open about 90 minutes north and I do have a Wrangler, the closer logging road washed out and they pulled all the equipment out to work on keeping the fire back from the highway.

Take the cat without a carrier. Better than leaving it behind. :(

My cat won't go near a car. He remembers 10 years ago he got in one and woke after up with no nuts! :D Cardboard box routine I guess...

Looks like I'll go. Just got a call, the SaveOn selling all perishables 50% off. I guess no more supply trucks coming in for the duration. The store on the rez had no meat yesterday at all and the drug store is only open for an hour and a half this morning. Post Office, Banks, Gov't Agent and other places gone, when SaveOn closes at 6, the last place to buy smokes is gone... guess it's time.
Have this "Shaun of the Dead" vision of the people at the Beer Store in gasmasks with fire hoses to keep it open as the mall burns.... :D

Women.
Popped into the store to talk to the old lady. She remarks, in front of all the staff and customers I suppose you haven't had time to sweep the floor yet?

You know, in case the fucking house burns down with a dirty floor....

Got to my daughter's house in PG good God the smoke here was worse than next to the fire! It's lifting this morning though.
On the way out there was a convoy of at least 20 cop vehicles headed to the Fort, something major is up. They laid this huge pipeline all down the other side of the lake, but you can't drive over it once it's filled, I think they're about to order everyone there to evacuate.
No pet carriers anywhere, the damn cat cried all the way here. Shout out for Petland, the PG store set him up with a proper size carrier, harness and nametags for him and the puppy.
