xerxes xerxes:
Did Manning racially profile people and flout the rule of law like Arpaio did? No? Then STFU.

Arpaio enforced the law and that's why he got a pardon.

Goddamned fucking liberal bitch judge can shove her agenda right up her ass. I hope she's so mad about the pardon she shits blood.

Not that I have any strong opinions on the matter.

No he didn't. He and his goon squad pulled over anyone who wasn't white, turned them over to ICE without actually checking their legal status. It was textbook profiling and textbook violation of the fourth amendment. Then when a judge told his fat as he couldn't do that anymore because of a little thing called the US constitution, he kept doing it because he is human filth

It's Arizona. The illegals in Arizona are Central Americans, Mexicans, and (surprise) Chinese.

How do you ID an illegal for a traffic stop?

* Mexican plates on their car with the tags expired (meaning they haven't been home).

* A dirty, old, unkempt vehicle in the midst of the Phoenix car culture.

* Too many people in the car. As in eight people in a five-seat car. That usually means a smuggler with a carload of illegals.

* Driving to avoid the police. It sounds lame but if you're being followed by the cops you don't make a bunch of turns. Best advice: slow down and wave politely as they pass.

And if you think Arpaio is filth for stopping illegals then I suppose you hate that fey girly-boy of a PM you have because he wants to stop and deport illegals from Canada, right?

Albright: 'special place in hell' for women who don't support Clinton
$1:
Former secretary of state Madeleine Albright introduced Hillary Clinton at an event in New Hampshire on Saturday, telling the crowd and voters in general: “There’s a special place in hell for women who don’t help each other!”

The Left doesn't get it. They keep whining about this, Russia etc it only strengthens Trump's base. If they really want to defeat him and hit him where it hurts it's policies but then again they picked a candidate who was riding on name recognition and gender via Madeline Albright's comments. No wonder 13% of Sanders supporters voted for Trump.

False arguments abound REPEAT:

Arpaio was found guilty of detaining people WITHOUT CAUSE, not for the causes you list (and having a "dirty old car in Phoenix" isn't a justifiable cause, BTW)

Madeline Albright isn't a woman so this is hardly a ringing endorsement of Hildebeast.

None of these articles in the media say that Arpaio detained anyone without cause.

Even MALDEF (a liberal Mexican group) doesn't say what you said. They say that Arpaio didn't have a right to detain undocumented (illegal) immigrants just because of their immigration status.

You seem to have a major problem with the police at any given time so it would be interesting to see why you're willing to make all sorts of excuses for someone like Arpaio, who is documented and convicted in a federal court of being one of the most sadistic, bullying, and law-breaking cops in all of the United States over the past several decades.

Here's hoping the answer consists of more than just some conspiracy-site half-assery that is just another endlessly dull variation of MAGA. :|

Cryin' shame Judges rule because they're liberal or conservative and not due to the LAW. You should stop electing them by popularity contest. Sheriffs too.

The judge in question is a federal judge. All federal judges are appointed. They are appointed exactly because they agree with the person appointing them, and then they cannot be removed by the people. You make it sound like taking the vote away from the people takes politics out of the equation. Nothing could be further from the truth. Having elections makes officials accountable to the people they serve. They don't get to kiss some ass and then get appointed to a lifelong political hack job with zero accountabiliy to the people.

Racial profiling is without cause. The lead complainant against in this case was a tourist in the country legally but was detained anyway.

They may be appointed by the time they get the federal level but before that, a jUS udge still has to start their career as politician and in most cases party-affiliated. The appointment to the federal bench is just the end result of the judge making the right party connections earlier in their career. The entire US judiciary should be depoliticized and no judges should be elected

That sounds good on paper, but its not that black and white. I see problems with both systems. With voting, the minority population (race, political views, etc.,) could get screwed. The same could happen with appointed judges. Lets say that the Native population of an area where they happen to be a majority of the voters oppose an oil pipeline crossing their water supply. An appointed judge would have no problem ordering the pipeline to go through. They would face no repercussions. I am not claiming to have all the answers here, I don't. I am only pointing out that there are problems with elected and appointed judges.

It seems to work well iin Canada.

Besides, judges are supposed to interpret the law impartially. So in the example of a pipeline, a judge's job would be to determine matters such as whether a party has a legal right to build or prevent a pipeline, not to decide whether the pipeline is good or bad policy- the latter is the job of the legislative branch, not the judicial branch.

Further, judges preside over hundreds of cases in a term. A community electing a particular judge because they think that particular judges philosophical approach to the law may favour them in one particular case would be short-sighted because it may work against them in the next case.
