Sad comment on all of this is if it's not some Muslim going all akbar again everyone comes off as relieved that it's possibly "merely" some shitty 4Chan kind of boyfriend killing five people on his way to murder his girlfriend. :|

I don't know, what I see on this forum is glee if the guy does turn out to be Muslim. And of course it all has to be about jihad, Muslims never just shoot up their girlfriends like normal people do.

If it's because of some Gamergate man-child who can only deal with relationship issues through violence, or because some liberal immigration policy merrily hands out entry papers to anything that crawls from underneath a third world rock, the end result is still the same. Five people who didn't deserve it are gone and the smirking shithead that did it is happy and healthy and laughing his ass off at the rest of us.

Nothing is ever going to get better. It's always going to get worse because apparently degradation and disintegration are natural forces of their own.

GF left Macy's a couple of months ago.

The Hispanic guy would have known that.

So, now what ? Whacking the GF ? Kinda dumb when he knows she isn't there.

Yeah, still unknown if she is involved. Maybe she had an enemy at the store? It could still be Muslim extremism, it just seems a long shot. There are literally zero mosques in skagit county where the shooting occurred and which includes mount Vernon and zero mosques in oak harbor where he lives. It hardly seems like a hotbed of extremist activity.

Of course he may have been radicalized online but there is nothing to suggest that. Right now it's just, he was born in Turkey, must be a Muslim terrorist. But he moved to the US at age one.

98% of Turkey is Muslim so in all likelihood he is, but I'm still not convinced of terrorism though.

OAK HARBOR, Wash. -- The 20-year-old man suspected of killing five people with a rifle at a Macy's makeup counter had had a string of run-ins with the law in recent years, including charges he assaulted his stepfather, and was described by a neighbour as so "creepy, rude and obnoxious" that she kept a Taser by her front door.

[snip]

Cetin immigrated to the U.S. from Turkey and is a legal permanent resident, officials said.

As the surrounding area absorbed news of the arrest, critical questions remained, including the gunman's motive. The FBI said early Saturday that there was no indication the shooting was terrorism, but local authorities said later in the day that they were ruling nothing out.
On Sept. 17, a 20-year-old man stabbed 10 people at a Minnesota mall before being shot to death by an off-duty police officer. Authorities said they are investigating the attack by Dahir Ahmed Adan as a possible act of terrorism.
On Sunday, investigators searched Cetin's vehicle and the apartment complex and were seen carrying boxes from a rear, upstairs unit. The four-unit building was surrounded with yellow police tape. Detectives would not say what they found.
Amber Cathey, 21, lived in an apartment next to Cetin for the past three months and said she was so frightened by him that she complained to apartment management and kept a stun gun handy. Cathey said she blocked him on Snapchat after he sent her a photo of his crotch.
"He was really creepy, rude and obnoxious," Cathey said. She said she would try to avoid him by walking the long way around to her apartment if she saw his car in the parking lot. The two were in high school together as well, and Cathey said he acted the same way then.

The Associated Press dug into Cetin’s social media accounts to look for clues:

A Twitter account showed, among other things, selfies, photos of him in younger years and pictures of Turkish food. He once participated in paintball and said he “can’t wait for Halo 5,” the first-person shooter video game. He also tweeted: “Shout out to the ROTC peeps.” A Facebook account showed he liked military-related sites.

Cetin also appeared to have blogs on the site Tumblr that had not been updated in many months. They included seemingly random posts about serial killer Ted Bundy, a collection of selfies, the top-secret Area 51 Cold War test site and photos of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei and Islamic State group leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. The two blogs linked back to each other and one of them linked to what appeared to be his Twitter page.

The L.A. Times adds that in one Tumblr post, Cetin “urged readers to repeat the phrase ‘Subhan Allah’ (‘Glory to God’) 10 times, ‘and then reblog this, do not stop reblogging it.” The date of this Tumblr post is not mentioned in the article.
