Condolences to the family and fans of @TorontoRobFord - an unforgettable guy who loved his job and city like few men I've met.

Kimmel's turning out to be a pretty classy guy for the most part, which is a major shock considering what The Man Show used to be like. 8O

Cancer is such a shit disease. I'm sorry Mr. Ford suffered and passed. It was clear that he cared for his community and city. I think and hope they do the Ford family the service of a full civic funeral. He's earned it.

He was the councilor for my ward and ive met him a few times. He had his flaws but I sincerely believe he cared. I strongly disagreed with his politics but I had a real respect for his commitment to what he believed in and his commitment to the people. If his funeral is open to the public, i will attend to show respect.

I heard a good segment on Rob Ford. A couple interviews with people gave me the impression he was someone who gave a shit. A rare quality these days.

$1:
Ford gained loyal supporters, nicknamed 'Ford Nation,' through his particular brand of retail politics. Green describes a time when Ford was her city councillor. The wheelchair ramps on the sidewalks near her home were damaged by construction, making it impossible for her to get to her pharmacy.

He would take time. And he remembered you.
- Joy Green, Rob Ford supporter
She called Ford and "He spoke to me personally. Not some secretary or assistant. Rob Ford got on the phone and listened to what I had to say." She says he called her back shortly after their first call, and told her the problem would be fixed in half an hour. It was: "That earns my loyalty, and my respect," says Green.

________

Rob Ford was a politician who connected with people on a personal level instead of hiding behind a Twitter account whining like a bitch like Don Iveson and Naheed Nenshi.
