The last terrorist death that I can remember in Canada was Pierre LaPorte back in 1970. In fact, that is the only terrorist death in Canada that I can remember.

That put the odds of dying by terrorism in Canada at something like 1 in 60,000,000 (guessing at the number of people who have lived and died during that, continuing into this period).

The worst terror attack before 9/11 was Air India flight 182, carrying 329 people, mostly Canadians.

Still, a very low probability of death.

I see 122 Albertans have been diagnosed with severe e-coli infections in the last couple weeks. That raises my risk of death far more than some extremists with their blood filled swimming pools.

Ignoring the obvious has become a real problem in the West in general.

Many of the foreign converts or reverts fighting Jihad are used for suicide missions.

They are harvested as dysfunctional misfits over here and used as cannon fodder over there. Soon, those who are left can and will return. That's a problem.

One of the first rational things to do would be to stop the practice of radicalizing misfits over here. It could be done, but watch what happens when you suggest how to do it.

The first thing would be Muslims should not be allowed to send religious advisers into prisons. Other religions do, and should be allowed to continue. Beginning to see the problem?

We knew why this seemingly unequal practice should be carried out back in 1974 with the Zebra killings. We still haven't learned the lesson. It's a real problem currently in the UK.

Would the practice of disallowing one religion into prisons be fair? Personally, I don't care.

The time will come when even a Progressive will not be able to ignore the obvious if we don't do something now. To do it we may have to choke down some principles concerning equality to all religions. We may have to notice what an enemy ideology looks like before it forces us to recognize it.

'Twice as Many' British Muslims Fighting for ISIS as UK Armed Forces

There are now more than twice as many British Muslims fighting for Islamic State than there are serving in the British armed forces, according to a British Member of Parliament (MP).

Khalid Mahmood, the MP for Perry Barr in Birmingham, estimates that at least 1,500 young British Muslims have been recruited by extremists fighting in Iraq and Syria in the last three years.

Mahmood told Newsweek that this figure had been building since the start of the Syrian conflict: "If you look across the whole of the country, and the various communities involved, 500 going over each year would be a conservative estimate.”

According to the Ministry of Defence, there are only around 600 British Muslims currently serving in the Armed Forces, making up approximately around 0.4% of total personnel. 4.3% of the British population are Muslim.

Yup and when they're captured or surrender they should be imprisoned, tried in the region they've committed their crimes against humanity in and then, publicly beheaded.

Since this happened in Syria, would the Syrian govt be doing the trying and beheading? The govt that gassed it's own people? Who will then put the Syrian regime on trial? US. I assume we would not behead but just gas those found guilty in our quest for tit for tat vengeance?

US tried to rescue Foley earlier this year, but could not find him. I don't think countries should risk lives trying to rescue people who knew full well what they were getting into.

Yup. Would there be any doubt as a Conservative what my position on this topic would be and, come to think of it what yours as a Liberal would be.

But, just to show that I'm a progressive Conservative I'll alter my stance on the subject. If these animals haven't been involved in any of the beheadings or mass murders then all they should get is life in prison with no chance of parole but the caveat being, that after having their citizenship stripped the prison system they serve life in is also one of the prison in the Middle East.

As for the other animals like the Brit that murdered James Foley what I said stands but even that isn't good enough for them.
