Exactly how did I react? what are you doing on this topic if it makes you feel uncomfortable.

You're a total putz. YOU brought up being 'uncomfortable' and now you act as if PF did? You moron, we're still on the same page with this discussion and we can all see where you brought it up.

Now go find a mirror and bitch at the guy you see because he's the one you have a problem with, not PF.

This is very, and very personal issue about abortion. So there is no sense to speak about it on public, we are not communists to speak about personal on public. So andyt, you can touch people on every stuff you want, but never touch anyone with personal. If you want, let's go to Ukraine or drug topic, but left girls in patience with abortion questions.

No, wait, you started with the bullshit that asking people their opinion on abortion is the same as asking if they've ever had one. That seems to be about people's comfort. And you have to twist the discussion to do it, because you know you have no case.

You have been saying that you were not asking about her opinion, she sad it by herself. About if she had one, we were not talking at all. Why you added that here I don't know.

I'll agree. The young Mrs. Winkler is very pretty, indeed. No doubt Mr. Winkler is aware of this as well.

You're as bad as PF, except you don't have the excuse of not speaking English well.
I wish you to speak Ukrainian, Russian, and more-less understand Polish as I. If you think that telling to me about my horrible English touches me, you are mistaken. I know that it is horrible and I'll never be speaking as good as native speaker, and my terrible accent will be my cross that I'll be keeping with myself during all my life. I wonder in you know any language except English and French, but I'm not sure about even French.

Don't worry PF, fucking asswipe andy can't even speak English properly, never mind
anything else.

hey! hey! hey! Let's be careful there martin. Do not compare andy to asswipe, as one performs an extremely useful service removing shit.....no one is sure about andy

Khar Khar:
If you had nitpicked your way a whole sentence later ( ), you'd see the Ipsos Reid version where the 6% value is cited (showing how I distinguished it from the 27% value from later), as well as further evidence of the 50% (49%) of Canadians not wanting any restrictions (ie whenever a woman decides she wants one).

In that same article (the National Post one) that you cited, 60% of Canadians would also support a law that would place restrictions on abortion. A bit of a contradiction, there. If you add up the "some restrictions" and "no abortion at all" only gets you 51% of the population, and yet, a small, but significant chunk of the population that believes in "unrestricted" abortion also want a law restricting abortion.

49% is not small, especially when in comparison to the 6% in opposition to abortion whatsoever, or even the 27% who would identify as pro-life. Further, there are people on this site who are for no restrictions, but would be alright supporting some restrictions on it if that came about. It's possible to be full pro-choice yet still be able to say "yeah, if they threw in a provision that made sense, I wouldn't be against it." Hence, they fall on the "for some restrictions" side in the second sample, even if they currently support full-on abortion.

If the first section of the Ipsos Reid poll indicates 49% are for abortion on demand, and you're talking about that said abortion on demand, I'd end up falling towards that figure. Accepting marginal limitations that do not impact access on demand allows for some gray area or overlap there, and I think that is what's happened here. Still, the value is not a rare one; take this 2012 Forum Research poll, done a few months later, with 60% for abortion on demand and 30% for abortions with restrictions. There is a comparatively high level of support for free-er abortion versus bans, and the pro-life group (I remind you, 27% identify as such) cannot account for the degree of people who want abortion albeit with some restrictions. Hence, there is a consistent reality to what I implied in my first post; pro-life groups are not the dominant or larger group, and in contrast are quite small for the most firmly held views such as complete bans; hence massive coverage of a rally on an issue politicians have decided to shelve is unlikely, yet coverage still exists.

Back on topic (thank you for doing that, Khar!)...

I've come around on my former position of opposing almost all abortions (excepting those to preserve the physical safety of the mother).

I now not only support abortion-on-demand for liberals, I encourage it.

That lady at about three minutes in (the one who lifted her shirt and jiggled her breasts) kept asking he the cameraman was "filming pornography" does not seem to have a lot of self-awareness.

I know I would never have an abortion and that's my choice.

Would you deny someone else to have one though?
Would you hold your friends hand when she is having one?
Would you help her raise the child she does not want if she is not allowed to have one?
Would you help her get through the stress of childbirth and then adoption?

Those are all questions that matter.

The young lady spoke to her 'choice'. If you really respect the right of a woman to choose then the answers to your questions are none of your business.

And I'm saying that to you because that's exactly what you'd say to me if I pestered someone about their choices.

Excuse me?
Her choice is fine. If she chooses not to have one, who I am to tell her she should?

What you seem to miss, is that it works the same way the other way around. Just because you don't want to have one, does not mean someone else can't. And THAT is what the whole abortion issue is about.

Btw, where did you get 'pestering' from?? I was just asking genuine questions. She can tell me herself whether that is any of my business or not.

As I have said here before, my OB/GYN advised me to have one. I chose not to. But I will NEVER tell anyone they cannot have one.
