When the anti-whaling treaty was adopted it allowed for Japan to harvest a quota of whales every year, for scientific purposes. So attempting to get Japan to stop scientific whaling who actually violate the treaty.

But on this thread the adults are discussing Japan's new Aircraft Carrier Destroyer. Time for you to kiss your picture of Paul Watson good night and go to bed. If you want to talk tree hugger, I suggest you create a seperate thread and discuss how much you like Sea Shepard and PETA and all the other hipster psudo-enviromentalist groups who don't really give two shits about thier so-called cause.
You could name the thread something witty to draw people in, something like "Paul Watson can have my children" or something to that effect.

I'm no PETA nut, but the exemption for "scientific whaling" is a cheap cover for commercial whaling and everyone and their dog knows it.

Sorry, did you just trivalize the holocaust? I don't believe anything your unit 731 did or could do approached anything the Nazi's, remember they are still hunting Nazi's today. 6 MILLION were systematically slaughtered. Its funny you seem to have forgotton the atrocities of the war in europe, but I guess its easier to paint the Japanese as evil when you don't have to deal with things like facts and reality.

I don't give two shits about you eco-bullshit. That prick Watson is an eco-terrorist and a fucking pirate (not to mention a fucking criminal fugitive), so leave your love for sea shepard in your bedroom where you no doubt masturbate vigerously to Paul Watson's image every night before you go to bed.

Yes most people know about Bataan, most know about the mutilations of american POW's. but again that was 68 years ago, and I think the Japanese people atoned for the sins of the military on the 6th and the 8th of August 1945. When 250,000 of them were either incinerated in the white light or poisoned in the black rain that followed.

Your argument is invalid.

Charming.

Trivialise the Holocaust?
No.

Anybody else here think the Big Bambu is trolling us?

No sane person would start out with that rant against the death penalty in Texas, switch to an completely irrational anti Japanese tirade and then just for good measure end it all off by wanting snakes eradicated. 8O

Or.......did I just answer my own question?

Why not, many people feel exactly like that about America/Texas death penalty death chambers.

Irrational? Not everyone is in love with Japan you know.
Not everyone wants Japan to re-arm with aircraft carriers etc.
Chinese crowd at Beijing games were hissing at Japanese athletes.

Why should I like Japan, past buying Japanese cars, DVD recorders, TVs etc?
I might be able to like Japan...if it stopped slaughtering 'my' whales, stopped slaughtering dolphins, and stopped treating 'me' with contempt.

We love our whales, and have a Humpback whale-watching industry.
Japan doesn't care, we've asked it nicely to stop killing our whales, it just ignores us.
Whales frolick in Sydney harbour and along our coastline as they migrate north then return to Antarctica.
Each whale has a name[can be identified by the markings on its tail] and coastal towns all have adopted a whale as their mascot.
Japan wants to kill them...USA is stopping them.

In love with Japan?

http://www.horschamp.qc.ca/new_offscreen/nakedarmy.html

A 1998 visit to London by the Japanese Prime Minister was continually interrupted by British war veterans turning their backs to the Prime Minister in a deviant attempt to force Japan to acknowledge its ill-treatment of allied POW's during World War 2.

I'm deadly serious about wanting snakes all killed.

http://www.oric.org.au/Industry_News/Outdoors_Safety/Girl_Dies_After_Snake_Bite_in_Backyard.html

A nine-year old girl in northern NSW recently died after sustaining a venomous snake bite. She was picking corn in the backyard of her family home in Uralla, south of Armidale, when bitten by what doctors say was a brown snake.

It is understood she suffered a heart attack as her parents called for emergency help. Four ambulance paramedics and a first response firefighting team from Uralla fought for 30 minutes to revive her. She was then taken to Armidale Hospital, about 20 kilometers away, where she later died.

Ireland doesn't have to put up with damn snakes, so why should I have to?

Big Bambu?

bambu is 'a little old [White]man' closer to 70 than 60...he has no time for trolling games.

'bambu' word is Warray Tribe, Adelaide River NT name for a didgeridoo...for singing.

The vast majority of Americans and Texans don't agree with you Bambu. Seeing as how you don't like the laws of Texas may I suggest you don't visit the state and if you do then do not violate it's laws.

How have you not been banned yet? This is blatantly racist dribble and you should be ashamed of the fact you actually wrote it.

Well given what Japan is currently doing in the world...

Japan's Unit 731...google that...makes the Nazis look like choirboys.

...in the movie 'The Great Raid' a true story.
The 'death marches' were also shown.

[i]February 16th, 1942; Former Broken Hill residents, Sister Vivian Bullwinkel and Matron Irene Drummond,

When Japan remembers WW2 it conveniently forgets all the atrocities it committed and is always playing the victim.

I'm just guessing you're not Canadian; you forgot St. Stephen's.

Why the modern day grudge?

I would only say, talk to a few vets who served in the East, there are still a few around.

It wasn't funny, and it wasn't that long ago. My parents were under occupation 40-45.

Most people can see the Germans have atoned for their behaviour 1933-1945.

If you dig a little bit, you can also see for the most part the Japanese haven't.
Whatever bs apologies they have made over the years might have been accepted
by governments, but not the people involved.

Big difference.

Talking with the WWII generation be it vets or people who where kids back then I tend to agree with you. There is an under current of mistrust for the Japanese. I would suspect that 20yrs from now there will be the same kind of mistrust of the middle east Muslims. No matter what may have changed from now till then.

"Battle Ship"? It's been 70 years since anyone built a "Battle Ship".

Oh, and "big a$$ guns" went out soon afterward.
