Then there's stories like this...

$1:
The massacre, carried out by Free Syrian Army militants reportedly targeted men, women and children in the Christian village of al-Duwayr/Douar close to the city of Homs and the border with Lebanon. The incident received little media attention, having occurred at the same time as thousands of Syrian troops converged on the insurgent-occupied town of al-Qusayr.

According to sources, around 350 heavily armed militants entered the village, broke into homes and assembled residents in the main square of the village where they were executed. The final death toll is not known but photos show severe damage to property in the village.

I prefer the Pamela Gellar version...

$1:
For close to a year I have been warning about the genocide of Christians and Alawites if the jihadists ("rebels") came to power. Massive. Monstrous. There are two million Christians in Syria. Yet another Islamic genocide that will be ignored, scrubbed, sanctioned.

This is not proprietary information. Obama knows.

Can someone please answer a question for me? Was there ever a US president that ever had a term that did not involve some sort of war, conflict or "policing action" with another nation? Has the United States always had a chip on it's shoulder trying to prove itself?

Not sure if this really answers your question but 7 years is the longest the USA has ever gone with out firing a shot in anger.

The blogger where I found the link to this video asked the question, "How can this war in Syria be a civil war when hardly anybody who's fighting in it is from Syria?"

Wanna spoiler? Only the Canadian lives. Go us, I guess.

More of a "If we don't fix this who will?" mindset.

And the answer is: Nobody.

Realistically, this isn't a conflict where there is some clearcut "good" or "bad" group here. No doubt a few rebel groups aren't batshit crazy, but a large number of them are, and removing a secular dictatorship for a theocratic dictatorship isn't an improvement in my book.

The thing is, these jihadi scum from middle class families in Western nations gain experience waging war, and if they survive they ooze back home and bring their extremism and training with them to use against us. Syria is just a training ground/exercise for a larger operation.
