Who goes to Cuba for medical treatment anyway? Should have made peace with the Great Satan and gone to the Mayo Clinic.

Dumbass.

Cuba killed him thru botched cancer treatment, thus Cuba did a coupe.

This is a joke comment, right?

Health care in Cuba consists of a government-coordinated system that guarantees universal coverage and consumes a lower proportion of the nation's GDP (7.3%) than some highly privatized systems (e.g. USA: 16%). The system does charge fees in treating elective treatment for patients from abroad, but tourists who fall ill are treated free in Cuban hospitals. Cuba attracts patients mostly from Latin America and Europe by offering care of comparable quality to a developed nation but at much lower prices. Cuba's own health indicators are the best in Latin America and surpass those of the US in some respects (infant mortality rates, underweight babies, HIV infection, immunization rates, doctor per population rates). In 2005, Cuba spent 7.6% of GDP on health care, or US$310 per capita. Of that, approximately 91% was government expenditure.

If ever the Cuba/USA relations are normalized, I can imagine a lot of Americans traveling to Cuba for a combination vacation and medical treatments.

Cuba does healthcare very well for its position in the world.

Cuba does well by any standard. Cubans enjoy the BEST healthcare in the world, vis a vis their GDP/capita. Cuba is the only third world county on earth that enjoys first world health care.

I'm trying to avoid saying something like that because I'm sure some Western puritan around here will start belittling me and telling me to "move there and see for yourself" or some crap.

I agree though.

Nope. Han Island is for you. An anarchist's paradise.

No, we would annex Cuba as our 52nd state, Cuba is the US's trouble child and our problem not Canada's or anyone else in the America's. 2nd Cuba has reasons to kill Chavez. Cuba is the main benefactor of oil at super low prices and also has 1000's of Dr's in Venezuela along with special Cuban operations groups, back by Iranian Quads. Also the US gets a lot of Oil from Venezuela. So ya we have a lot to watch and worry about including the invocation of our Monroe Doctrine policy should we choose to. Yes a lot of Americans would love to travel and vacation in Free Cuba, not communist. Cuba is the US's as is Puerto Rico from the Spanish War. what you need to know in Canada is. Anyone in Canada who vacations in Cuba is sponsoring there Military and human right abuse in there gulags. the military there owns all of the tourist ventures and has involvement in all three of there airlines. why am i so passionate with Cuba, my Wife is 100% Cuban. Her Family in Cuba when she was 8 got her to MUGM NAS for protection. Several days later her father and mother where executed by Castro's goons. she carried a wealth of photo's of Cuba most never see and there very disturbing and they still continue today. So i wouldnt put anything past Cuba or my own the US with fingers in the pie.

Also note Iran has Quads in both Cuba and Venezuela with Cuban hit teams.
