You want to be very careful stepping into a domestic violence situation. Ask any cop - they're likely to both turn on you.
Or we had the case where a guy stepped in when a man was assaulting a woman. The assaulter smacked our hero who hit his head on a curb and was seriously injured. The woman meanwhile walked away and didn't come forward. When she was found she said she didn't ask for help and it was none of her business what happened to her rescuer.
