Mr_Canada Mr_Canada:
Proculation Proculation:
To make a parallel with you, I have a perfect situation.

A friend of mine was walking in the streets of Montreal at night, going home. He had a red shirt, written "CCCP" with the hammer and sickle. Well, at a corner 3 guys passed by him and began to hassle him "Fuckin' communist!". Last thing he remembers, he wakes up beaten up bad in the hospital.

What's worse between the "Fuck niggers" and "CCCP" t-shirts ?

Shitty Montreal street.

Whom was the Communist attacking? Who was he personally trying to insult?

Who was the Communist discrediting?

No one, comrade.

Well, he certainly crossed people having problems with communists. Maybe some Chechens or Cubans.

And you approve that ?

Absolutely. If you're gonna spew racism, you deserve to eat a knuckle sandwich.

Bodah Bodah:
This just made Ottawa U look bad, Considering her speaking tour was about Political Correctness gone mad what transpired just proved her point.

Well, you're right that the U of Ottawa was made to look bad. They need to seriously rethink how the ivitation-to-speak process is done. The real error here was with the selection of venue. She should have been booked into a comedy club instead of a place of higher learning. Then there wouldn't have been a problem.

You call Ottawa U a place of higher learning ? the same place that has Israel Apartheid Week every year ? That's some funny shit right there, thanks for the shits and giggles.

The Israel Apartheid Week ought to be held at the comedy club too, I'll grant you that. Still, a univeristy is not the venue for Ann Coulter. Ezra could have just as easily staged it a the Civic Centre. Then there'd be no question of proper decorum, nor would there be any cries of quelled free-speech.

This thread should not be so much about racism as in that she should have been allowed to make her speech, no matter how controversial.

Also funny how some terrorist 'fanatics' are able to spew their radical views BS, have been able to enter Canada previously but have been much less publicized. Cannot recall the event though. 8O

Left good, Right bad. Sure, that's the way the media usually sees it. Btw, this whole thing should not to be taken too seriously, since it makes for good forum conversation. :)

Oh and please let me add this.

I am not defending her in any ways. Please understand that. :)

It's fun to comment on. Either way you look at it. Crap, there is so much political correctness these days. That's the point here.

So if referring to her purposely cancelling the event to give a boost to her ratings, Perhaps you could be right.

Either way, it's a show. And like they say, the show must go on.

Something struck me last night.

Sure, it's a forum and it's not representative of all english canada.

But, in French Canada, in the french forums, the response was mostly "free speech was censored". It's NOT 90-10% but I think it's much more divided than in english canada.

You know that Quebec is more left-wing than the rest of Canada and I would think the social opinion would be more "the students were right to prevent her to talk". Strangely, most people thought that she's a stupid b**ch but she should have been able to speak.

Maybe someone could make a thesis on that strange phenomenon
