What I was trying to get at there was that everyone seems to jump to the conclusion that it's another religious group (i.e. Muslims, Sikh, Jewish) who are the ones who are complaining when in fact it's not. It's normally one or two people with nothing better to do than to raise hell over a nothing issue.

I probably shouldn't have used the term atheist though, what I meant was that those who are doing the are not doing so on behalf on a religious group they represent or because they hold an opposing religious view.

As much as I like ragging on the TeaBirchers and duh-duh breed of religious conservatives, things like this story just make me want to bash my head against a wall. Every time some dumb-ass liberal makes up a rule like this it just pours more gasoline onto the fire that the Christian hardliners use to power their endless furnace of anger. This is as dumb as the schools doing things like suspending kids for pointing their fingers at each other like guns and yelling "BANG! BANG!" during recess play.

There's school boards out there, especially in the US, that have been hijacked by Biblical fundamentalists, and are doing things like banning evolution teaching in science classes and re-writing entire history books to make the slave-owning sociopaths of the Confederacy look like the real heroes and patriots of the US Civil War. And all of this gets swept aside because some 'progressive' pussywimp changes the Easter Egg Hunt into the 'Spring Sphere Search'. If I had kids I'd seriously consider home-schooling them myself just to keep them away from the crazies on the one side and the total morons on the other.
