The Opposition and the CBC practically wanted Guergis dead after the incident at the PEI airport, but now it's more convenient and useful for them to portray her as some kind of victim of Stephen Harper's unending malice, which apparently to them rivals that of Sauron.

Contrast this to the way the Liberals and the eastern media portrayed the treatment by Jean Chretien of John Nunziata, a former Liberal who actually had some principles, and got fired for it, when it came to Chretien's incessant lying about getting rid of the GST and NAFTA. In that incident Nunziata was made into nothing less than a traitor for calling his own boss out over deliberately ignoring the promises made in the Red Book and then lying about it by claiming he never made those promises in the first place.

This is the nothing but the cynical old Ottawa two-step in progress as usual. The ones who end up dancing are those who's memory for scandals only goes back 30 seconds or so. Or only back as far as 2006, when the Liberals finally got cashiered out of the controls of power. Fuck them, and fuck their media buddies who keep playing the damn music for them just so their annointed Natural Governing Party (of disgusting political hacks) can get their filthy bloody hands back on the control switches again.
